Highest level of education?

  1. Thanks...I'll forward that and let you know what they say. It's possible he dropped out for some reason beyond his control and
then later went back and finished. But, technically, I guess that
still qualifies him to be on the list. Anyway, I'll let you know what the response was. Thanks

  2. Right...some on the list later got their GED and started college,
some just got on with their career of choice.

Without statistics how do you know the difference between a good(bad) trading strategy and a lucky(unlucky) streak? Vikana is right on.

If you can't do a two-tailed z-test (or don't know what one is!) you should hire professional money management help -- that is, stick to mutual funds, hedge funds, and CTA's.

  5. Statistics lie brother. In the end it's all a game of chance.
Don't be fooled to think you rule this game just because you're getting a robust z test answer. Not that it doesn't help build confidence, but when the black swan hits, there's nothing you can do to stop it.

    I graduated beauty school.
Quit art school. Nothing exciting here.

Bob graduated college with 2 BS in 3 years. Physics and mathematics. He got done quickly because he was paying for it himself....... My darling little nerd.

Are you suggesting that good old boy rednecks drop out of high school and are uneducated?

  8. What makes you think he's a redneck? Seems like a pretty nice guy to me. And I bet he could teach the professor that teaches
"How to Start a Business...101" a thing or two.

While roulette and trading are indeed games of chance, the difference between you, Swoop, and the Mirage Casino is statistics. One of you makes money; the other thinks it's all a game of chance.

  10. To where?
So, you are saying that some people need a degree to get people to listen to them?

Why do you have this need to have people listen to you?
Are you saying that people who do not subordinate themselves to some established system of specialization are unlearned?
Well that says it all. Do you work to live or live to work?

If the highest you can expire to is a job, well of course stay in school as long as you can.

But if perchance you want freedom, the ability to exercise creative thought . Perhaps it is not taught in a formal system.
Who wants to compare themselves to that? Get a life.
Just what we wanted Max. To be held in productive servitude.
Where you are. Where R U?
Traders should not be taking advise from Brokers. Brokers are trained to live off their clients. Do your homework, “Where are the customers Yachats?”
Who do you think paid for that Fiat?
You chose to take advise from a broker who makes his living off of you?
Well that proves it. A bunch of people that you don't know using criteria from the last century have given their approval to somebody for something you know nothing about. And you subordinate yourself to them. You deserve to work to enrich someone else.
Formalized education is not necessary. But Education is definitely necessary. You have to know how to read charts!
Only ET's poll taking members. It just shows that formalized educational students belive in consenses more than non-formalized students.
These people have jobs. Just the thing of value to free independent traders. I guess it shows thay compromize there own creativity more.
Are you talking about Bill Gates or Jesse Livermore?
Makes sense. Boot lickers thrive in a formalized system of approval.
What is a GPA and what does it mean you are made of?
People say the same thing about the military. Try holding futures contracts for a few months if you want to learn confidence and focus.
If you were a success you would not need a resume.
You got that backwards. We drive Ferraris because our level of skill has increased to where few cars are capable of satisfying us. You drive a Ferrari because it is fun.
    Depends!
    On school :
I think my father realised I wasn't very keen on studying, and I believe this quite suited him, as it meant he had no qualms about taking me away from when I reached the age of 16. He thought I would learn more, he said, on the farm than I would from school books.

Does that imply that private TA schools are Lower Education?
