  2. "sufficient profits" ... on Wall Street these 2 words are not allowed to be used in the same sentence. Didn't you know that?

u have the same mentality as President Obama. do not worry. a transaction tax is in your future.

  4. I don't think so. Consider the political power of Goldman.

in the UK brokers are exempt from transaction tax ie stamp tax but not the online trader/investor.
goldman etc. will be exempt for its own trading.

    Quote from d138:

Exchanges DO distribute date via multicast now! Retail investor do not have computational power to process this data or money to pay for network connection.

Seriously, one of us has a comprehension problem. Maybe it is I who is doing a bad job of explaining myself

    transaction tax-

do not be in a rush for the hangman's noose for your business.

it takes time. nationalizing the US health system is on the top of the agenda.

suggest u read the ET thread on the subject. of transaction tax.

then again there are others like yourself who think that your interests and that of goldman are one and same.

    what a delusion.

  9. I am under no such delusions. But I do think they'll have a harder time selling a tax here with blatant favoritism toward big banks than has been done in comparable situations elsewhere.

  10. A transaction tax would spell the end of the American securities 'industry'.
A higher SEC 'fee' (the same you're paying now), on the other hand would help drive some of these BS 'bots out of town.
