The list of Ultra Processed Food UPF is getting longer and longer. 99% of all babies are being fed with Infant formula (aka UPF). Subsequently, the toddlers are fed with cereal (aka UPF), orange juice (aka HFCS)... etc etc etc
Haven't stumbled upon that brand, but I did pick up some lactose free whole milk and noticed a few things: • it's very tasty • it didn't upset my gastrointestinal tract (thx FF for the suggestion) • it has about the same amount of carbs/sugar as regular whole milk That last one surprised me, as I had always mistakenly thought that removing the lactose in milk would remove (or lessen) the carbs/sugar, but the numbers don't lie. Anyway, this will probably be my first and last lactose-free venture as the carbs are not worth it to me.
Fairlife has about half the carbs of regular (Whole) milk. Yeah, lactose isn't the issue with carbs in milk (glucose, galactose). So while lactose is what's causing the trouble it's not the dominant carb in milk. But yeah, even at 5g or whatever Fairlife has on macros, it's not a keto food.
Now yer gonna tell me I'm supposed to remove the quills before munching down porcupine... Geez, where is the purity in that. .
Many people assume lactose-free milk has fewer carbs, but the lactose is just broken down into simpler sugars, not removed.
