    SunTrader

    Petty reaction to petty theft.

Also article title says "suspended", then down below says "Mr Shah's departure ..."

Which is it? Seems someone at BBC News should be suspended for poor writing and/or editing.

  2. Reminds me of the book Liars Poker. They always made the new trader get all the snacks without paying for it, so he just started stealing it from the cafeteria. Then he was busted by the SEC cafeteria police, yup SEC you heard right.

  4. I heard about this from someone at Citi and the guy has been doing it for two years...he steals his lunch every day.

They can cut him w/o cause or simply give him a nominal bonus and the dude would have left anyway.

Well, you know, they probably wouldn't have looked through the video unless someone reported him.

  7. OK, this is second-hand, but citi employees had been complaining to HR. If the guy is a shit or not worth his weight they would either can him or give him a shit bonus. No need to fire for cause.

  8. I helped myself to things from the office in plain sight all the time. I figured if someone is going to fire me for it, I'm no longer useful anyway might as well get out. Never did get fired. Even after the HR emails specifically calling out stuff I would take. Haha.

I think you missed the larger point. If he was so damn callous about taking small things for himself, seemingly without any qualm, you have to start wondering how he might have handled his client's money. But then again, how can you expect a high moral standard from a child when his parent is so screwed up? Just look at the way Citi mishandled things of their own in a more serious manner, might I add.

Citigroup slammed with record $57 million fine for inaccurate reporting

  10. OK, so in light of the reporting fine... they should allow fucks to steal sandwiches and snacks? 31yo doesn't know that theft is a crime?

I manage your retirement fund and charge you an extra 3bp per year in fees but hey, I am doing great, so why not?

The FCA is super tight-assed about dumb shit like this. Of course he is going to get canned. What's absurd is that he's done. He's unemployable at that level bc he's too cheap to cover a $100 weekly lunch tab?

I can't remember the name, but there was a board-level dude riding the train for free. He was banned for life?
