you obviously didn't hear about those girls that starve themselves yet still can't lose the desired weight....once your body gets used to 500 cal a day, even 300 cal more will make them put on weight....not to mention that if you eat plants all day most of the lost weight is muscle instead of fat.

  5. killthesunshine, you say meat is bad, but it has all amino acids and some saturated fat that is needed. If you eat too large portions, or fry the meat, or add too much more fat to the meat, like cheese and mayonaise to the hamburger, and eat this like this all the time, then yes it might be too many calories to burn for some people. But that does not make meat bad, it make portions bad, and adding more fat food to meat bad.
But the thread is about LDL cholesterol and heart disease. And how new evidence is saying it is not linked, but inflammation could be of the problem. But the doctors keep prescribing dangerous statins that have not shown to help heart disease. Big money to pharmaceutical company so they choose which science report to use to keep the drug they make on the market. So people who have told to take away fat from the diet, not eat beef, because of the heart disease risk could be wrong information. But I agree with you to eat vegetable and fruit, and not to eat processed food too much. Like potato chip. Is potato bad, no. It is the process that makes more calories.

  9. What karol88 saying is if you only eat 5 apple a day, to stop from starving, the body slows down metabolism to survive. If that person start to eat healthy and normal again, they first might get fat or overweight because the metabolism is so slow. They have to eat more over time to make metabolism go faster and go back to healthy and normal.
If someone only eat 5 apples every day, and never eat more, they will either die, or become very weak and tired and not able to be physical, and just lay down and exist.
