How is this any different then what Locals and floor Traders have done for decades ?

Technology just makes it easier for the average Joe now.

 

1) You were never a floor trader, were you?
2) "Average Joe" isn't doing HFT. Super-Mega-QuantGeek-Joe is doing HFT and the "2%" number could actually decline as the weaker players fall by the wayside.

BB Terminal is a HFT appliance?? You gotta be kidding me. It's not.

 

You misunderstood me. I meant BB as an example for Internet Appliance.

 

IF & when somebody does that for you, it will be the day HFT is finished.
