High-Capacity Magazines used in Mass Shootings resulted in 54% more deaths

  1. That's so fucking stupid. The problem with only a few rounds in a magazine is it lessens nearly everyone's ability to protect themselves because now instead of 1 clip in the gun you'll need to carry at least 2 spare clips at the same time.

now the bad guy in the street and the next mass shooter is going to conveniently ignore those restrictions.

It may only take a second for someone intent on mass murder to change a clip but the guy surprised by a criminal may take the rest of his life to reload.

  3. It is so annoying hearing people talk about assault rifles like they are some insane gun that is 10 times deadlier than any other gun. The general public doesn't even really have access to what is truly an assault rife. Unless you have a class 3 license or illegally modified the gun to be fully automatic it is hardly any different from just a regular semi-auto deer hunting rifle.

Are criminals and psychos getting these real assault rifles just as easily as they do the legal "assault rifles"?

I'm reminded of the quote: " When debating with a liberal....... when they start name calling........ You've Won!!!"

.....it's best to leave before they start frothing at the mouth though....

Admittedly, that was a big stronger than your "afflicted" and "socialist". But if the shoe fits, my gey friend, wear it.

YES of course they are...... and they will continue to regardless of what new law may be imposed..... there "Criminals"

I'm reminded of the headline in the news on the eve of the sunset of the Clinton Gun Ban........

"Terrorist Eagerly Await Expiration of Gun Ban in Order to Buy Weapons"

....yea right.... like there's some terrorist setting around the kitchen table saying to himself..... "gee, I can't wait till after the 13th to buy some weapons so I can be a terrorist again......."

  8. According to FBI statistics, an average of 150 people are killed each year in mass shootings (4 or more people killed in a single incident) in the US.

According to National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) statistics, approximately 400 people are struck by lightning on average each year in the US.

You're 2.6 times more likely to be struck by lightning than you are to be killed by a mass murderer with a gun.

Mass shootings are tragic, but they're not an "epidemic," despite the hysterical reporting by the news media.

  9. Yes potentially, but most of those people will not be slowed by any new gun laws. The penalty for a fully automatic weapon is like 10 years I think. So clearly people willing to carry one don't care what the law says. The laws only slow down law abiding citizens. It doesn't matter what the law is, people WILL do what they want regardless of the punishment. Do you think cartels care if the government bans them?

Just think about the Batman shooting, if somebody in there was carrying (and had some balls) they could have shot that guy and saved several lives no doubt. That is an argument for handguns but still nonetheless a valid reason behind allowing gun ownership.

It doesn't matter what is banned or what the law is, if somebody wants to go on a killing spree they will do it one way or another. Ban guns and then more bombs will be used. Anybody with half a brain can make a bomb powerful enough to kill multiple people. So are they gonna ban every combustible chemical available then?
