In some way, HFT is a good thing. We get our filled fast. However, HFT is the worst enemy if a trader places stop. Which is another thing why should not trade stop but add to average. that will be my next thread soon.
emg, I'm really looking forward to that thread! Seems that if you don't use stops you get crushed when some unforeseen event occurs. On the flip side, it also seems that placing them a few ticks outside S/R levels you still get shaken out and using stop limits, you don't get filled. I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for it as I'd appreciate a fresh perspective.
