    Quote from sputdr:

"UN caught in another lie. The observers of the religion of peace were using them as shields as they use civilians like the coward scum they are.

Hezbollah was using UN post as 'shield'

The words of a Canadian United Nations observer written just days before he was killed in an Israeli bombing of a UN post in Lebanon are evidence Hezbollah was using the post as a "shield" to fire rockets into Israel, says a former UN commander in Bosnia".

Umm, ooookkk. so we get that part.

"Those words, written in an e-mail dated just nine days ago, offer a possible explanation as to why the post -- which according to UN officials was clearly marked and known to Israeli forces -- was hit by Israel on Tuesday night, said retired Maj.-Gen. Lewis MacKenzie yesterday.

The strike hit the UN observation post in the southern Lebanese village of El Khiam, killing Canadian Maj. Paeta Hess-von Kruedener and three others serving as unarmed UN military observers in the area.

Just last week, Maj. Hess-von Kruedener wrote an e-mail about his experiences after nine months in the area, words Maj.-Gen. MacKenzie said are an obvious allusion to Hezbollah tactics.

"What I can tell you is this," he wrote in an e-mail to CTV dated July 18. "We have on a daily basis had numerous occasions where our position has come under direct or indirect fire from both (Israeli) artillery and aerial bombing."

"The closest artillery has landed within 2 meters (sic) of our position and the closest 1000 lb aerial bomb has landed 100 meters (sic) from our patrol base. This has not been deliberate targeting, but rather due to tactical necessity."

Oookkkk, so now we have the dead guy commenting that the Israeli shelling was due to "tactical necessity". Maj.-Gen. MacKenzie strongly "assumes" and makes an extrapolation from there. Oookkkk, we're cool so far?

"Those words, particularly the last sentence, are not-so-veiled language indicating Israeli strikes were aimed at Hezbollah targets near the post, said Maj.-Gen. MacKenzie."

How the general goes from "tactical necessity" to Hezbollah near the posts is kind of a long shot. OOookkkk, but the general forgets to mention that the pill box was bombed ALL DAY. Hey general so are you saying that Hezbollah were using the pill box allllll day?

"What that means is, in plain English, 'We've got Hezbollah fighters running around in our positions, taking our positions here and then using us for shields and then engaging the (Israeli Defence Forces)," he said.

"In plain english"? HUH?! Am I missing something or is the good general missing a brain? So the general extrapolates "tactial reasons" to plain english? ( I hope this fool is'nt in charge of the wmd hunt ).

So now since the fool assumes tactical reasons = hezbollah in the pill box. Why the next step is pretty simple, just keep on extrapolating. I mean, hey, anything to shift the worlds opinion elsewhere.

So this is all "in plain english". You got that?!

"A senior UN official, asked about the information contained in Maj. Hess-von Kruedener's e-mail concerning Hezbollah presence in the vicinity of the Khiam base, denied the world body had been caugh"

"At the time, there had been no Hezbollah activity reported in the area," he said. "So it was quite clear they were not going after other targets; that, for whatever reason, our position was being fired upon.

"Whether or not they thought they were going after something else, we don't know. The fact was, we told them where we were. They knew where we were. The position was clearly marked, and they pounded the hell out of us."

Hey wait a minute here. Any one know what the generals comments are on the senior UN guys comments above?

Oh wait, the general only deals with extrapolations. Not plain english.

"Even if Hezbollah was not firing rockets at the time of the bombing, Maj. Hess-von Kruedener's e-mail indicates they were using a terrorist tactic of purposely drawing out enemy forces near a neutral site, said retired Capt. Peter Forsberg, who did two UN tours between 1993 and 1995 during the Bosnian war."

huh?!! All the Canadian guy wrote was "tactical reasons". Damn, these guys are good at "reading into stuff". I say give the boy a Ouija Board!

"The UN's limited mandate, meaning that its observers are unarmed and have few options, put the observers in a poor position, he said".

    ahh, this makes more sense.

" If indeed Israel was attempting to hit Hezbollah fighters in the area, it hasn't yet used the excuse to explain its actions because it wouldn't make it any less guilty in the world's eyes, Capt. Forsberg said. "

Heyyyyyy, wait a minute here. You mean to tell me the worlds most efficient propaganda machine has'nt figured out how to spin this thing yet?!

I got an idea, They need to hire AAAbeltway!! he has some real good ideas!

  2. Don't worry, the machine of which you speak, the NY Times, will spin it soon enough. They'll make Israel look like they did it just for the sake of killing some UN troops, and that the noble Hezbollah freedom fighters are standing up to the IDF Goliath.

Is anybody surprised to see the liberals come out in defense of the terrorists? Anybody at all? Anybody what so ever? Is it so widely known that the left has sided with the terrorists that nobody is surprised? Even on this cynical board?

Wis. lawmakers want univ. instructor fired

MADISON, Wis. - More than 60 state lawmakers are urging the University of Wisconsin-Madison to fire an instructor who has argued that the U.S. government orchestrated the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

A letter sent Thursday and signed by 52 Assembly representatives and nine state senators condemns a decision to let Kevin Barrett teach an introductory class on Islam this fall.

UW-Madison Provost Pat Farrell launched a review after Barrett spoke last month on a talk show about his views that the terrorist attacks were the result of a government conspiracy to spark war in the Middle East. After the review, Farrell said Barrett was a qualified instructor who can present his views as one perspective on the attacks.

"I still have every expectation this will be a very positive educational experience for our students," Farrell said Thursday. "Some are upset about Mr. Barrett's viewpoints on 9/11 and don't want to pay much attention to what makes for a quality educational experience."

Republican Rep. Steve Nass said the lawmakers' letter, which called Barrett's views "academically dishonest," sends a strong message to top UW leaders.

"When 61 legislators condemn a decision by UW-Madison and demand the dismissal of Kevin Barrett, the leadership of the UW System operates at its own peril if it continues to ignore views of the taxpayers," Nass said in a statement.

Barrett has said Nass was "only interested in name-calling and witch hunting."

The state Assembly last week refused to take up a proposed resolution supported by Nass calling on university to fire Barrett, who will get $8,247 as a part-time instructor this fall.

In Colorado, another professor has been under fire for an essay likening white-collar victims of the Sept. 11 attacks to Nazi official Adolf Eichmann, a key planner of the Holocaust.

University of Colorado officials concluded that ethnic studies professor Ward Churchill could not be fired over the essay because of free speech protections, but they launched an investigation into allegations of academic misconduct. A faculty committee concluded he committed research misconduct and university officials said last month that he should be fire. Churchill has appealed to keep his job.

LOL, who to believe. A professor who has researched 9/11 in depth or some anonymous moderator in a message board dominated by right wing fanatics?

It's too bad that the US has become a fascist state where academic freedom is given only lip service. I guess the professor needs to attend more of the weekly indoctrination seminars courtesy of the fourth Reich.

So I guess you guys must be giddy with delight about the new Verichip implants that go into your forehead?! You do know you don't even have to carry ID or a credit card or cash if you have one!

Good Day. I've had my fun you guys. I hear the tin foil hat gives a better signal to the Verichip forehead implant. ROTFLMAO :D
