i could be wrong but when i short a stock at .20 and then put my bid at .05 and the specialist brings it down and prints at .06 (never showing a .06 bid) and then takes the stock right back up to .20 my guess is he was the buyer. i could be wrong but it happens all the time. if i took your advice and put my bid at .08 he would just pick off .09. as far as the spread goes i don't really care about paying up 5 cents...but increments don't determine the actual spread. i've seen 50 cent spreads even with penny increments. if i want .00 or .05 or .10 that's what i will buy or sell. i care more about the direction of the stock. i would just rather have 20 price points per dollar than 100.
i use bullets all the time....i was just giving an example, but it is not relevant in making my point.
if you use bullets all the time... then your statement has no relevancy to your trading... and your thoughts and energy plus time could put into something more productive then worrying/arguing about something that will not make you profitable... mkt opens in 2mins... focus...
that does sound like BS - actually more like grand theft than anything else. maybe the current investigations will help stop some of those practices.
i don't think you understand what i am talking about given your response. why does it matter how i initiate the trade...my concern is on the exit part of the strategy. as far as worrying/arguing i am doing neither....just sharing my experience in the market given the investigation on the nyse. i have noticed today and friday i am getting better fills...could be a coincidence. please feel free to expound on your point because i have no idea what you are trying to say. please explain how bullets are even relevant to this discusion. thx
on a side note: sort of funny coincidence but on my first trade this morning i sold adi at .20 (with a bullet) and bought back .08...... i must be psychic!!!
no youre not psychic b/c if you were you wouldve went long and road it to almost 32 as opposed to sitting short for 12cents...
have you ever traded adi??? i could never have held it for 80 cents. if you can you are a much better trader than i am. i actually missed it on the upside(i miss it alot) but i did buy txn and hold it for 20 cents.....i am a scalper and these days i will take 12 and 20 cents all day long. i did however buy adi @ .51 and sell .53 on the way to .91...brilliant huh?!!!
