  2. I do feel sorry for the moderates in the U.S.

On one side you have fuckwits like this fellow above. Pretty much brain dead morons. walking zombies with semi-functional brains attached to a organic heart/lung machine ( the body). The neoconservative 25 percentile.

And on the other side you have the ultra-liberals who would like the U.S. to be a pussified nanny state like Britain. They'd rather be hugging trees and living off welfare than being productive in a paying job. In their world, every man is a eunuch and every woman has a dick transplant. The ultra-liberal 25 percentile.

unfortunately nothing can be done about these 2 groups of clueless fuckwits. One wants a Christian reich, the other wants a welfare state.

the moderate 50% are too busy raising families and working multiple jobs and paying most of the taxes. They keep the country together so the 25 percentile fuck-witted ends of the population can play their little useless games.

  3. Actually in the real world tax cuts don't pay for themselves, WILL THE TAX CUTS ULTIMATELY PAY FOR THEMSELVES?

And it was Volcker killing inflation that reduced the cost of capital that lead to the boom times to follow, not tax cutting.

  4. he agrees with the left as much as the right.

iraq: totally against the method it was approached. Said no way to win with such a small force. now that we are there, does not want to lose cause he believes we'd get sucked right back in again after the region implodes.

economics: only agrees with the low tax part. MUCH more of a deficit hawk. Wants pork to be illegal (Obama almost always votes in favor of pork stuffed bills BTW. well, when he actually votes that is).

    Environment: nearly a tree hugger.

campaign contributions: the republicans nearly lynched him on this one.

previous wars: voted AGAINST his party, and for withdrawing troops from Lebanon. unfortunately, they were kept there and a few hundred marines were blown up.

voted against sending troops to Somalia.

Do your homework buddy, Mac isn't even close to Bush. just because the Dems keep saying it is so does not make it a fact.

You seem to forget 9/11 - they started this, not us, unless you are one of them. We took the fight to them and kept it there, and should keep pressing the point that America will not surrender and beg that they not hit us again. Meanwhile, we freed three good nations from oppression, which is what America stands for in the world, and we should help them stay free.

Wrt Reagan's economic policies, the history has spoken, it was a great success. Not to forget that he also brought the Soviet Union to its knees and freed many countries in Europe and Asia from their grip. It was a glorious time, and the Dems have nothing comparable to show for. Oh well. :D

  6. You seem to forget that Iraq had nothing to do with that, aside from cherry-picked and fabricated "intelligence." The incursion into Afghanistan was entirely appropriate, but invading Iraq was malignant bullshit. Creating a foundation of toothpicks on which to invade Iraq was malignant bullshit.

Meanwhile, you weren't listening. May I suggest that you take notes:

  7. In Addition to what Convertibility wrote, you may wish to consider the possibility that some of those incremental revenues were the very result of the spending on stupid stuff that you refer to, as the companies that the government bought the stupid stuff from were taxed on their resulting inflated profits. Regardless, the net result was not so positive for the country as a whole since it sunk into deeper debt as a result. The thing about accounting is that it is a double-entry thing, and you can't just look at the shiny part and ignore the other side of the ledger. Living high on a credit card can look and feel good if you can ignore those pesky statements.

Some folks here would make a great audience at a magic show, as they pay close attention to what the magician wants them to see, while ignoring the stuff going on in the background that he doesn't want them to see. (The thing is, the stuff going on in the foreground relies on the stuff going on in the background.)

    Th-Dog,

Saddam was the real instigator of terrorism in that area, their main spokesperson in most forums, the funder of many suicide bombers in Israel and a threat to the Middle East and the rest of the world, not to mention a real butcher to his main victims, his people. He told us that he had WMD, the UN told us the same, our data said the same thing, Clinton agreed, and Bush and a whole bunch of other players concurred - and then Bush pushed the corrupt UN aside and took him out. Yes, war is terrible, but...

Reagan's presidency was great and any effort to rewrite history will fail. extremely successful, both economically and politically. Plus, who cares, the man is not here, may he rest in peace.

I know you don't like Bush, but, you liberals need to come to grips that the man whipped your collective butt several times, and griping about it won't change that fundamental fact. And he governed very well: two necessary but successful wars, economy growing with leaps and bounds until Congress (in its eternal stupidity) turned Democratic, good judges, etc etc. I know you disagree, but, what can I say, tough, grow up!

    :D

  10. +1 !!!

Bring back Reagan and JFK. They both had common sense.

The new GOP is the worst thing to happen to America in a long, long time. Neocons have pissed on Reagan's grave.

And because Neocons are so hated, and have so crippled the GOP, you're now about to experience a new form of pain.
