tradestation, Amibroker and ninjatrader. I like my Tos though, try not to over trade in a year. As far as automation goes I use algs for discovery, and validation but as for order placement that's done by hand. Years ago I was running TD Strategy Desk 2006. I backtested for year plus research, then started running real time. back testing showed great results but real time I had a bad run of false positive triggers that would initiated a trade.
Hey, that reminds me. I posted the proof you asked for in my journal thread, in like an hour or two after you requested it. Where is your statement here? It has been almost three months now. :-\
I use TradeStation Easy Language and MQL4/MT4. Easy Language is easier to learn. MQL4 is more precise. ThinkScript isn't in the running. Good luck.
It is in this very thread that you are responding in. Just quite a ways back. https://www.elitetrader.com/et/thre...ing-for-some-input.304891/page-2#post-4369455
I just now received an email signalling an update to this thread, and read through it all. Lots of good points etc. I've since dropped ToS altogether, and am now using Interactive Brokers (for a few reasons). TD was charging $9.99 a trade, IB's start at a buck. The biggest reason though is IB's API. I've since learned Python and refreshing on C# so I''m using a cloud based server I created to run some algos through that direct with IB and also have one running through Quantopian with IB. Working on a Forex algo right now which has led me to quantconnect.com due to their flexibility. So, in reply to those that say you can't compete with the big boys, it's being done. To anybody using a platform based algo I highly suggest switching and taking the time to learn one of the other popular languages so that you can take advantage of their libraries. All of the info is much appreciated, some good points, and they've sparked new ideas.
Oh okay now I see. The answer to the question can I back it up with a statement is yes. Do I care enough about internet credibility to get a scanner and learn how to redact it, not really.
Who gives a flying fuk about credibility on the 'net? It was just about backing up trades and statements made on this forum. And this forum is not the 'net. You have the audacity to ask me for proof in my journal on "the 'net" when way back when I asked you for yours and you never provided it? I provide it in my journal, but you waffled on the deal way back then? So you are, indeed, 100% fake. Nothing but a sim child, blowing in the wind. Your "credibility" on this forum just tanked. No trades you take are live monies. They are all sim, and thus immaterial. Blah blah blah. Come on algo, just learn how to get a statement from your broker in an e-mail, learn how to use MS paint and use a brush. Sheesh.
