    Consider this...

We're posting about this in the Political section which mainly has aligned itself with the U.S. two-party system although there's a third party (Independent).

I find it strange that those here that say they're conservative/GOP typically complain about issues in Canada that are caused by conservative political parties in Canada. More important, they further ignore that connection and then blame Prime Minister Trudeau or just Canada itself like this current thread.
    • The above is an issue I understand well and I didn't even vote for Prime Minister Trudeau. Heck, my location of residence in Québec should give even an idiot clues about that.
Regardless, Canada has many more political parties than the United States but with less of the bullshit games played in the United States, less indictments of political leaders, less arrests of politicians, less insurrection attempts...

In today's heated environment of a Pandemic (now an endemic), the political parties in a country need to "come together" for the overall health of the country, especially in times of crisis instead of being divisive.

This forum is a microcosm of the problems...too many bullshit threads created by people with hidden agendas and/or they do not know what the fuck they're bitching about.

I asked people on here quite a few years ago if the P&R was representative at all of mainstream American culture. I was told no. But it is clear now that this was indicative of a meaningful minority that could cause a ton of problems. It was a mistake for more reasonable Americans to assume it was just crackpots online spouting garbage.

What whining, what disrespectful behavior, whats this crap about WWII, you had little to nothing to do with the outcome.

BTW, where does Wayne Gretzky live?

Progressive = Marxist, make a note of that, PAL. It is nothing to be proud of.

Canada -- a leading polluter on the face of the earth! Welcome to the top four club and being the winner of the most carbon pollution per person award.

In 2023, Canada’s wildfires released more planet-warming carbon than fossil-fuel emissions from all but three countries, a new study found.
Only China, the United States and India produced more emissions from burning fossil fuels than the Canadian fires, according to the study. The findings could upend key calculations on the pace of global warming.

The wildfires that ravaged Canada’s boreal forests in 2023 produced more planet-warming carbon emissions than the burning of fossil fuels in all but three countries, research published on Wednesday has found.

Only China, the United States and India produced more emissions from fossil fuels than the Canadian fires, according to the study, which was published in the journal Nature.

The wildfires last year call into question how much carbon the forests will absorb in the future, scientists said. That, in turn, may make it necessary to reconsider calculations of how much more greenhouse gas humans can add to the atmosphere without pushing temperatures beyond current global targets.

The most ambitious limit set in the 2015 Paris Agreement was 1.5 degrees Celsius, or 2.7 Fahrenheit, above preindustrial times. Beyond that threshold, scientist say, it will be increasingly difficult for humans to adapt to a hotter planet.

The boreal forests have historically helped to slow climate change by storing carbon as trees grow rather than adding carbon dioxide to the atmosphere. While the hot and dry weather that fueled the fires in Canada last year was extraordinary when compared with historical records, climate projections suggest it will become common in the 2050s if the world continues on the current trajectory of global warming.

“This brings up a lot of concerns about whether these fires will happen more frequently,” said Brendan Byrne, a carbon cycle scientist at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, Calif., and one of the authors of the study. “That could potentially have a big impact on the ability of these forests to store carbon.”

Seriously you just seem mentally incompetent even on your best days. Trump shares the same qualities. Your disrespect of Canada's military participation both now and in WW2 just makes you look like a giant asshole who disrespects ALL military on the planet. Which I could understand given you seem to have PTSD. Doesn't make it factual though just because you want it to be emotionally. You're just some dumb idiot on an internet site. But Trump is a far more dangerous man given he's the annoited leader of America idiots like you and you drank the Koolaid. The more you lunatics chat on social media the more you alert more grounded Americans of that danger. Get ready for President Harris and 4 years of you bozos bitching about it.

It is not a military partnership, it is a handout from the US taxpayer to ungrateful Canadians. They reap the rewards and but do not pay their fair share.

Canada faces pressure at Nato summit for riding on 'coattails'

And WW2? Remember when Canada got involved in WWII? Neither does anyone else. They had zero impact.

Not only that, but they actually have a King. Its 2024, its time for them to abandon their archaic political system. Its no wonder that they basically have no space program. Cutting edge AI coming Canada? Forget about it. They dont have the intellectual base to do that.

So after years of ripping off the US and being some of the worlds biggest polluters, Trump nails it.
