I'm starting a trading journal. I want to sell S&P 500 index futures ($250 per point). I want to sell 1 @ 990, 1 @ 995, and 1 @ 1000. So, if it goes over 1000, I will be short 3 contracts. These sell orders are good til cancelled.
sold 1 S&P futures @ 990 (great trade!!!!) overnight position: short 1 @ 990 for thursday, sell 1 @ 985, and sell 1 @ 990. So if it goes over 990, I'll be short 3.
That's exactly what i'm doing! I'm counting on the end of the quarter ramp up job to keep the prices up long enough for me to shorten up.
sold 1 more @ 985 on thursday. Now we are short 2. 6/25 sold 1 @ 990 6/26 sold 1 @ 985. current position: short 2 @ 987.5 (average price) For friday: hold this position thru weekend.
All are welcome to participate in this journal. It will be one of the very few profitable trading journals here. I look forward to large profits, but not huge.
Very fair question. The S&P 500 index would need to hit a new high. I'm leaning towards placing a stop loss @ 1020.
