http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2012/10/...mp-speech-thought-romney-was-pathetic-friend/ Killed former SEAL used in stump speech thought Romney was âpatheticâ: friend The friend of a former Navy SEAL who was recently killed during attacks in Libya says that his friend âwould definitely not approveâ of Republican Presidential nominee Mitt Romney invoking his name to score political points. Over the past week, Romney has been recalling a chance meeting with former Navy SEAL Glen Doherty years ago to get an edge on President Barack Obama after attacks on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi that resulted in the death of the veteran, U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens and other Americans. The former Massachusetts governor appeared to get choked up on Tuesday as he told a crowd in Iowa that he had met Doherty when he mistakenly attended the wrong neighborhood party. âWe had a lot of things in common,â Romney said. âYou can imagine how I felt when I found out that he was one of the two former Navy SEALs killed in Benghazi on Sept. 11th.â But Elf Ellefsen, a friend of Dohertyâs, said that the former SEALâs recollection of Romney was not as favorable. âHe said it was very comical,â Ellefsen told Ron & Don radio show producer Libby Denkmann. âMitt Romney approached him ultimately four times, using this private gathering as a political venture to further his image. He kept introducing himself as Mitt Romney, a political figure. The same introduction, the same opening line. Glen believed it to be very insincere and stale.â âHe said it was pathetic and comical to have the same person come up to you within only a half hour, have this person reintroduce himself to you, having absolutely no idea whatsoever that he just did this 20 minutes ago, and did not even recognize Glenâs face.â Although Doherty was a member of the advisory board of the Military Religious Freedom Foundation (MRFF), Ellefsen said that he was non-political and âwould not approveâ Romney using his name. âWhether it be Republican, Democrat, Green Party, Libertarian, it doesnât make a difference,â Ellefsen explained. âBecause this guy is using our great friend, our humble, and honorable great friend⦠who is truly larger than life⦠He has become part of the soapbox routine for politics in a presidential race.â âHonestly it does make me sick. Glen would definitely not approve of it. He probably wouldnât do much about it. He probably wouldnât say a whole lot about it. I think Glen would feel, more than anything, almost embarrassed for Romney. I think he would feel pity for him.â Speaking to WHDH, Dohertyâs mother also called on the GOP hopeful to stop using her sonâs name on the campaign trail. âI donât trust Romney,â Barbara Doherty told the station. âHe shouldnât make my sonâs death part of his political agenda. Itâs wrong to use these brave young men, who wanted freedom for all, to degrade Obama.â Update (2:30 p.m. ET): After Romney told the same story about Glen Doherty again on Wednesday, his campaign promised that the former Massachusetts governor would not mention the slain former SEAL in campaign speeches again.
I imagine he would find it comical that Romney would keep re-introducing himself. What he probably would not find so comical that he is now dead, not because of Romney, but because the Obama administration left his ass out to dry in a situation that any boot camp recruit would have known a better armed and larger security force was needed.
AK47 The next US president, Mitt Romney, has withdrawn from using the comments about the seal. But if anyone is pathetic, it is Obama for not having enough security and the seals family for being too stupid to see this. Your illegal African Muslim alien leader has only got a few weeks left. Enjoy them for what they are. Regards, Josh
Jason Chaffetz Admits House GOP Cut Funding For Embassy Security: 'You Have To Prioritize Things' Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) acknowledged on Wednesday that House Republicans had consciously voted to reduce the funds allocated to the State Department for embassy security since winning the majority in 2010. On Wednesday morning, CNN anchor Soledad O'Brien asked the Utah Republican if he had "voted to cut the funding for embassy security." "Absolutely," Chaffetz said. "Look we have to make priorities and choices in this country. We haveâ¦15,000 contractors in Iraq. We have more than 6,000 contractors, a private army there, for President Obama, in Baghdad. And weâre talking about can we get two dozen or so people into Libya to help protect our forces. When youâre in tough economic times, you have to make difficult choices. You have to prioritize things.â For the past two years, House Republicans have continued to deprioritize the security forces protecting State Department personnel around the world. In fiscal year 2011, lawmakers shaved $128 million off of the administration's request for embassy security funding. House Republicans drained off even more funds in fiscal year 2012 -- cutting back on the department's request by $331 million.

Do you even understand what the man was saying? He's saying we have thousands of people in Baghdad, but we couldn't get a few more in Libya? How's about we moved a couple dozen from Baghdad to Benghazi? Do you comprehend what prioritizing means? Obviously Obama does not.
We are still under constant attack in Iraq, they need all the help they can get The hypocrisy from the right is mind blowing.Cutting spending so the rich can get their tax cuts is all you republicans keep fighting for but when something bad happens as a result of your spending cuts you want to past blame onto somebody else.American interests are targets worldwide and all of them need all the help they can get. There is no prioritizing when The US have targets on them worldwide and all are understaffed. If the Iraq embassy was hit you and Chaffetz would be saying why didnt we take security from places that weren't being attacked daily and send to Iraq Obamas state department asked for more money for embassy security...The House said NO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Iraq? Really? What are we getting done in Iraqnam??? Why don't we move our people out of harm's way??? What have you turned into, brother AK, some kinda right wing wacko??? Just be right wing; not wacko.
