If i thought Cain had a chance at winning i would vote for him over both Romney, and Perry in a second. This is amazing, and it completely comes out of left field. Florida is pretty good at picking winners too, though i dont think this means much aside from the fact that no one likes perry or romney.

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Herman Cain won the Presidency 5 Florida Straw poll with 996 votes, blowing past Rick Perry and Ron Paul, both of whom had organized to win here.
"It shows you something," said Gov. Rick Scott. "The road to the White House is right through Florida. It pays to be here."
Of course, Perry had shown up -- he was here from Thursday night to Saturday morning, working over delegates personally. By failing so convincingly, Perry's ensured that the weekend's "trouble for frontrunner narrative" will be plated in gold and frozen in amber.
The road to the the vote count was slow and agonizing. I'm just referring to how it felt for the people in the room. After delegates from all 67 counties cast their ballots, they were part of a roll call... but not, immediately, a vote count. Instead, we were subjected to the typical convention hype for each area. One county had "diversified agriculture and a great lake." One had the "largest rodeo east of the mississippi." One was "represented by America's congressman, Allen West!" Guess which!

But in talking to the delegates all day, there was little variation from the panhandle to Miami-Dad, from the I-4 corridor to Pinellas. "I vpted for Cain, but I wish Michele Bachmann had shown up," said delegate Tom Andrews. "Perry is just too... the words I would use would be status quo." Multiple delegates told me that had been undecided between Perry and Cain, especially after the debate, but decided to boost Cain because he could use the boost.

    Herman Cain - 996
    Rick Perry - TK
    Mitt Romney - 372
    Rick Santorum - 289
    Ron Paul - 276
    Newt Gingrich - 224
    Jon Huntsman - 60
    Michele Bachmann - 40

Its a straw poll. Lets not get too excited. Bachman got a lot of hype for winning the Iowa straw poll. How has that turned out?

Vote your conscious in the primary and vote ABO in the general.

    I looked up Cain's 9 9 9 plan.

"The former businessman explained that he would do away with the existing tax code and replace it with a nine percent tax on corporate income, a nine percent tax on personal income and a nine percent national sales tax."

We have 10.25% state/county sales tax here in Los Angeles county in California. Does that mean that I would be paying 19.25% total sales tax? That's like the hated VAT in europe.

Yes, thats exactly what it means.

Yes, it is what it means. But any income you make would be reduced to 9%, and no more cap gains tax, etc. I'd take this in a heartbeat.

Of course, the only people who would fight it is those who don't make any money.

If you don't make money, and don't pay income tax, you shouldn't have a say in how taxes are done. Just my opinion.
