Donald Trump doesn't rent housing to "the public". He rents housing to private people on an individual basis. If we were talking about government housing, then you'd have a fair, valid point. Private property is private property, public property is public property.
Someone who says that AA isn't a set of policies which enact racial discrimination against white people does not know what AA is.
public -noun-the people constituting a community, state, or nation. Trump rents to people constituting a community, state, or nation
In contrast, institutions and courts have upheld discrimination against whites when it is done to promote a diverse work or educational environment, even when it was shown to be to the detriment of qualified applicants. Affirmative action refers to policies that take factors including "race, color, religion, gender , or national origin" into consideration in order to benefit an underrepresented group, usually as a means to counter the effects of a history of discrimination. The focus of such policies ranges from employment and education to public contracting and health programs. Conservative Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, the only current black Justice, opposes affirmative action. He believes the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment forbids consideration of race, such as race-based affirmative action or preferential treatment. He also believes it creates "a cult of victimization" and implies blacks require "special treatment in order to succeed". Thomas also cites his own experiences of affirmative action programs as a reason for his criticism.
Al Sharpton was against Iraq war, promised to end the Bush tax cuts, and promised universal healthcare. Why didn't you vote for him? Were you a racist then, but not now -- a Robert Byrd democrat?
