You’re stretching common sense but I don’t discount tertiary factors. But there is a direct connection between gun deaths and gun availability.

There is also a direct connection between drug overdoses and drug availability. We should immediately move to make drugs illegal.

Iceland has one of the lowest rate of gun deaths in the world, but has some of the highest number of guns per capita in the world, so that kind of debunks the gun deaths/gun availability prognosis. I think we both want less gun deaths, but we need more data. I know you want "something" to be done now without going through the process of looking at all data, but you should be demanding more studies be done ASAP so we can make a decision as a country on what the best course of action is. We need to look at the science so that no side, either republican or democrat can deny it and a full comprehensive study into all the things I mentioned (and what you mentioned) plus anything else we haven't thought of is put in so we can actually draw the lines to conclusion and create laws that actually work.

The truth is we BOTH don't know what's causing people to kill each other. We only have our speculation and biases which isn't science.

  4. Don't kid yourself. His type relishes these mass shootings, since it gives them something to politicize and exploit. They know the only way to get us disarmed is by panicking people into stupid gun confiscation, like New Zealand did with their deranged Prime Minister.

They don't give a shit about gun deaths. You never hear a peep from them about the nightly carnage in places like Chicago or Baltimore, not unless they can blame a white policeman somehow. What they really want is to stick it to conservative republicans and they know abridging gun rights is one of the best ways to do that.

No we do. There are numerous studies showing availability is the key. Back track through this thread I provided the latest one based on fbi and DOJ numbers. The evidence is overwhelming.

I do find it laughable that you think republicans care about science and math. That’s absurd.

Iceland and Switzerland are great examples of countries with common sense regulation that do not hinder gun ownership.

Why would I care if a responsible person owned a gun? Have 1,000 guns if you can be responsible. I don’t care about that.
