Max was right, it really is funny. an·ces·try (nsstr) n. pl. an·ces·tries 1. Ancestral descent or lineage. 2. Ancestors considered as a group. Sicilians are of European ancestry, not African. how hard is it to understand that even IF you have a few (out of dozens or hundreds) african ancestors from thousands of years ago, you are still not descended from blacks? The same for American slaves, ONE white guy in the lineage does not mean they are descended from whites. Also, a quick google search and you can see for yourself that back then, the North Africans who would have 'mingled' with Sicilians were actually Phoenician (Semitic/Arab) and not black Africans. And it's a shame I was taught in school that Hannibal was black, turns out that's bullshit. Your heart is pumping as much African blood as Powder, ya fucking honkey.
I think they have a positive effect. It wont wont change racist beliefs but it will change racist behavior imo.Liberal whites and blacks have good relationships already for the most part.It wont create good will with racist whites and black people but nothing will .Racist whites are fuming over the Deen and Zimmerman incidents put its positive for the country imo because it shows there will be huge negative personal consequences for racist actions or behavior.Deen has lost her empire,Zims life is ruined whether he gets convicted or not.The next time a racist white guy wants to profile and pursue a minority he knows he might have a huge legal defense bill ,possibly go to prison and get raped in a civil suit.
True but I doubt Zim would ever profile and get out his car and pursue another black kid walking down the street again.
Sears, KMart latest retailers to drop Paula Deen products LOS ANGELES â Country cooking queen Paula Deen's admission last week that she had used the N-word in the past and once planned a slavery-themed wedding has caused more companies to jump ship. Sears and KMart announced Friday that they would no longer carry Paula Deen cookware or any other of her products. Target announced Thursday it was severing ties with the former TV chef, while shopping network QVC announced it was "taking a pause" in its relationship with Deen. "After careful consideration of all available information, we have made the decision to phase out all products tied to the brand," a rep for Sears Holdings, which owns both Sears and KMart stores, told FOX411. A Target rep said Thursday they had "made a decision to phase out the Paula Deen merchandise in our stores as well as on Target.com." Diabetes drug maker Novo Nordisk also said on Thursday the company and Deen had "mutually agreed to suspend our patient education activities for now." These companies join Walmart and Caesars Entertainment (Wednesday), Smithfield Foods (Monday), and the Food Network (last Friday) in the list of companies no longer doing business with Deen.
