Addressing the âhurtful liesâ that have been said about her, a âheartbrokenâ Deen emphasized her belief that everyone be treated equally âthankful for those who have stood by her side. Addressing last weekâs interview with Lauer that she failed to show up for, Deen recalled that she was in a âstate of shockâ and overwhelmed. âThereâs been some very, very hurtful lies said about me,â Deen told him, wishing to put forth her beliefs. âI believe that every creature on this earthâ¦was created equal. ⦠I believe that everyone should be treated equal.â Lauer remained blunt, questioning whether Deen was there in an attempt to stop the âfinancial bleeding,â but Deen insisted that wasnât the case. That she wanted people to âknow who I am.â People sheâs never heard of are saying things about her, she said â and their words are being given weight. âWould you have fired you?â Lauer asked, seeking to steer the interview as Deen rambled and went on tangents. Deen replied, âKnowing me, no.â As she thanked those partners who have been by her side, Lauer asked, point blank, âAre you a racist?â âNo,â Deen responded, pointing to the way she was raised by her father who would not have tolerated any kind of superiority complex over others. That said, Lauer pressed, she admitted to using the ân wordâ in the deposition. That was âa world ago,â Deen said, and during a robbery. Other than that instance, Deen said sheâd never used the term because âitâs just not a part of who we are.â âI have never with any intention hurt anybody on purpose and I never would,â Deen told Lauer. âWhat you see is what you get. ⦠Iâm heartbroken.â âI is what I is and Iâm not changing,â Deen said later. âThere is someone evil out there that saw what I worked for, and they wanted it.â
Had to shelve it for now, cause my buddy who i was going to go with got his girlfriend pregnant, trying to find someone else to go with now.
She should have simply said, "yes, I was robbed at gunpoint, and called the robber exactly what I thought he was."
Her comments were from nearly 30 yrs ago? She should have just defended herself by saying she was merely repeating some joke/dialogue she heard in a movie (if you all remember how blacks were portrayed and what was said in the late 70s-early 80's era cinema). Lay the blame for her bad use of words at Hollywood's feet.
Her fake apologies are getting better. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/g8F_3_U7E3s" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
