Chomsky is exactly like some celebrity who thinks that becuase they achieved some success in one area of endeavor, in Chomsky's case linguistics, that means they are expert at everything. Chomsky felt the urge to enter politics.

He's a communist anarchist, that' all you need to know, he is not 'the greatest intellectual in america, and if you heap praise on his political views or even think they are worth studying then you are also just a leftist hack. It's all garbage, makes good academic tripe that lefties love to masterbate on, but in the end its garbage of no use in the real world. The Sokal affair proved you can earn a degree and make a living spewing shit in US humanities departments.

The one and only large scale attempt at implementing this type of crap happened in Spain in the 1930s and it failed miserably. It also fails several logical assesments, but again that isn't any sort of impediment to leftists who hold their worldviews exactly like a religion.

Here's a guide for those of you care look past SA's mental masterbation and really look at this lowlife Americam Chomsky http://www.paulbogdanor.com/chomskyhoax.html

Try DeLong's writing, Delong is a liberal economist at Berkeley that I am critical of, so he is a '3rd' party. Delong calls Chomsky followers a cult, I agree.

Or try "America's Dumbest Intellectual" http://www.city-journal.org/printable.php?id=831 for a good overview

or we can just quote Chomsky himself

“I see no antisemitic implications in denial of the existence of gas chambers, or even denial of the holocaust.”
    (Quadrant, Australia, October 1981)

One might argue, at least I would argue, that council communism... is the natural form of revolutionary socialism in an industrial society.”
(Government in the Future [Seven Stories Press, 2005], p. 27)

“if we ever get anything like a kind of just society, things like my standard of living may very well not exist. In that sense, there will be, I think, material deprivation in some manner for a large part of the population. And I think there ought to be.”

I really don't need to read anymore, if someone says "I'm a communist-anarchist, want to see my writings?" I don't have to go any further just as if a someone said "I am a muslim, want to read my apologetics?"

Fair so far as it goes; it's not as much of a stretch as successful businessman to statesman, like Romney's attempting.

I guess I'm more talking about people who suddenly are enlightened 'leading thinkers', economists, and commentators, since Chomsky never ran for office. Let's not get carried away here and think that there are some sort of standards for politicians.

To be clear, we all are entitled to have an opinion, it's that Chomsky and his followers sell it as more than that. They think it is some sort of profound truth that goes beyond say that of a Krugman. I therefore will examine to a greater degree.

  10. Mav88, looks like somebody is clueless about Noam Chomsky.

You can start learning at least a little about Noam Chomsky by watching some of these videos:

After that you can discuss things in a more intelligent way.
