North American won a joint bid to host the 2026 World Cup bid on Wednesday. The U.S. has submitted 17 cities to host matches, but that list will be narrowed down to 10 by 2021. Thus far, cities in contention to host are New York/New Jersey, Seattle, Boston, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Denver, Miami, Houston, Dallas, Los Angeles, Washington D.C., Baltimore, Nashville, Orlando, San Francisco/San Jose, and Cincinnati. 3. Iceland and Argentina 1-1 tie.

Even though Argentina had the ball most of the game they couldn't do anything with it.

Incredible, Iceland is only a nation of 351k...

  6. Question raised on qualification. Host country gets automatic entry. If U.S., Canada, and Mexico are hosts and get automatic entry but normal qualification has 3 teams usually qualify from CONCACAF...how will they handle qualification if at all...Maybe all 3 have to agree to still go through CONCACAF qualification because Canada rarely qualifies and U.S. missed out and 2 other countries made it this year (Panama and Costa Rica).

  7. Will the additional 14 teams make a difference?
    32 teams to 46.

  8. Forgot they expanded it which not a big fan of because the final qualification spot battles are great. Chile, Italy, Netherlands, USA did not make it because they lost, under the new system they would make it I guess.

SO perhaps USA, Canada, Mexico qualify but that is like half the final 6 so they might give 2 more spots to CONCACAF.

I think the new slots will go mostly to Europe, South AMerica and Africa though as CONCACAF has a final 6 and top 3 qualify so they may throw another spot for them (4th place usually has to go to a playoff against Australia or Oceania team). They may be eliminating playoffs.

I think they will dilute it by expanding to 14 more teams as there are already weak international teams in the Pools...
