why would u insist at getting ripped off trading FX. Trade currency futures at the CME in a regulated environment
You can open an account with less than 10k but last I heard their Universal account requires 10k to start. I looked at IB's site but couldn't see for sure if its still 10k for the Universal account. Can anyone confirm this?
In order to open a new account you must deposit USD 5,000 (or USD equivalent). http://www.interactivebrokers.com/en/accounts/fees/minimumDeposits.php?ib_entity=llc#balance
Ya, but the Universal account is the good one with all the financial instruments you could want to trade. I know the $10k used to be the minumum for a Universal.
a place to start your research or get another point of view from current & former customers. lots of info here http://www.forexbastards.com/
Universal account is the standard trading account at IB. Unless you're prime brokerage or IRA. Cost to open is 5k, like the guy said. Another good fx broker to trade with (ECN) is Hotspotfx (Knight trading). Only need 7500 to open. Only get 50:1. Can see depth. Man Canada is good for fx too. Accounts are protected. Tight spreads. Commish tacked on to trades (round turn is about 1 pip)
