If you are accredited, you may be eligible to become an IB bondholder. The return has been 8% for the past few years...an outstanding rate for such a quality note.

  2. I heard someone said that IB handed out billions bonus this year. Is it true? How do they award their bond holders? I am afraid I still have not found out how to buy IB bond. :( Their actions are gone without me this year.

Several months after opening an account with IB (this was several years ago) it was noted by IB that our family met the financial requirements to invest in their company (not through any kind of stock, but through certificates/bonds).

The return since has been a steady 8% and has been much appreciated compared to other low maintenance investments as of late. I believe it is by invitation only but can't be certain.
