No - you need this, which will give you an additional graphics output via one of your USB3 connections - but make sure you have a BLUE USB connection, as that means it is USB3. You might have meant the same thing, you just got it backwards. Actually, this one says it does USB2 - I did not think you could get one that worked with USB2, but there you go! www.amazon.com/Plugable-Graphics-Multiple-2048x1152-1920x1080/dp/B00A2E1MQA J_S
Thank you this Looks good ! I also found this other adapter which I've included the link. Which one is better? The one you sent me or this other one? Or are they pretty much the same thing ? Thanks https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00B...mi+adapter&dpPl=1&dpID=415LulcTgSL&ref=plSrch
Your one looks bit better, as slightly higher resolution for DVI output. I prefer DVI monitors over HDMI - just my personal choice, mostly due to the fact you can buy 19 to 24 inch dvi monitors very cheap second hand. Compare the reviews and then decide yourself. J_S
Yeah I was just comparing reviews and they both look great! Just checked on my laptop that in fact it has two BLUE usb ports on it. So for now I think this should suffice for my trading days. In the future when I become a full time trader I will definitely follow your advice for the trading desktop pc. Right now I'm really just trading part time a few days a week on some momentum stocks.
You are welcome - don't be too eager to go fulltime, as if you are depending on trading income to pay a mortage, etc, then it creates pressure which in turn affects the way you think - ultimately leading to bad trading decisions. Only when you can make good money every week do you consider quitting a "normal" job - don't mind the idiots who talk bullshit on internet sites - use your head and common sense and you will do fine. Thanks! Really do appreciate your good advice. Yeah at one point I had too much free time on vacation and I ended up overtrading and just making horrible trades. So definitely I feel that my part time trading is much more disciplined than trying to go full time at this point.
Will go with the adapter you recommended! Found 7 reviews on amazon for stock traders that have used it and all where 5 stars. While on the other one I had seen I found nothing from traders. Although it might also work just fine there is no reason to take the risk. Once again thank you!
Just pointing out how silly people can be when they get into trading - been there and done that. If daytrading, depending on what and how you trade, anything from one laptop to 6 monitors might be needed - having more than 6 monitors tends to tell me the trader is not really focused and is looking at way too much info for trading decisions. I have 4 monitors the exact requirement for the way I daytrade now - eminis and a few etfs. If I ever revert to stock trading, based on sector leaders/laggers, then I will need an additional 2 monitors - but for now I am not doing that.
