  3. How does the DAX volume compare to some of the major US futures?

    2 cents from a European...

I agree with all said previously and would in no shape or form recommend a novice start trading the Dax....its an uncompromising market even for the pro!! That being said it is the most profitable market my program trades (FTSE,Cac,Dax, S&P & Dow futures). It can and does move independently to the US markets, YTD its up around 10-13% where as US is down 2-3% I believe. yes it can follow the US in the afternoon but will often dance to its own beat... take this morning as an example, S&P dropped 6 pts after the Dax closed, dax was called (by spreadbetters) to open 20 lower accordingly. It actually opened up 5 and rallied to be up 47 as we speak....
If you want an easy ride try eurostoxx50 or e-mini s&p which often follows the dax early european trade and is a lot less painful if your offside.

forgot to say that e-local (guaranteed IB of RCG) trades dax/eurostoxx50 etc) at good rates...& RCG's ultimate executing broker for European markets is Fimat.
