  4. yeah, it prolly was coolweb. i have that on one of my PC's now. Malwarebytes, that 'super" something one, and even kapersky couldn't nuke it. Gonna try this a squared later today. Thanks for the heads up.

  5. No problem.

A-Squared literally nuked it - the only program that could.

  6. Add Malewarebytes to the just 'okay' list.

Nothing beats A-Squared. It detects many more things the others completely miss.

  7. Could also have a rootkit. If it's that important to you, call a local IT professional and have your system evaluated and cleaned.

This is a great and useful thread. Thanks for all who posted.

One of my "internet surfing" computers just got hit with the trjoan.zlob virus and I can't seem to get rid of it. I have Norton but it only partially removes the threat. It has hijacked my internet explorer browser so I can't access the internet at all.

What's the best way to download/get help off the net if I can't access it?

    Any help is appreciated.

  9. Try some of these, these are what I use on 1 PC. They all work well together.

    A-Squared
    AdAware
    AntiVir
    Avast
    Malwarebytes
    Spybot
    Spywareblaster
    Superantispyware

I'm not sure if AdAware is that useful though.

Is there any other program I can add to my list to protect my PC?

I got my problem fixed! I used the superantispyware app. to get the job done, although it took 2 tries.

Will all those spyware apps. work together at the same time? Don't they all run in the background?

    Thanks again.
