  1. Thanks for the reply Mvic. You seem to know more about the subject than me, so I appreciate your comments.
For me, it's never been about portion control. Just exercise and eating sensibly.

  4. I am somewhat surprised that none of my colleagues here has given the correct and truthful answer to your ailment in detail.

So I will....here is the skinny Mr Insert and all others trying to do the same.

100 percent guaranteed with no effort!

To start, you are seeing your problem from the wrong perspective. 'How' you lose weight is irrelevant. There a million and ones ways or combinations that a person can use to lose weight, included and not limited to getting a new really beautiful athletic girlfriend/wife who will make you run around the house chasing her for 30 minutes a day if you are to have sex with her.....

So DON"T worry about the how. The 'how' will come to you with 100% certainty.

In order for you to lose weight and KEEP it off for the rest of your life, pay close attention.

You must first KNOW, with complete and total CONVICTION, that you WILL have the body you wish to have in a not so distant future. And that you will keep that body WITHOUT effort for the rest of your life.

FIRST...KNOW and be completely convinced that it will happen.....even if today it would seem like a very far fetched idea, just KNOW with complete and total faith. This is the most important part.

Second. Have you noticed how some people spend all their lives going from one diet to the next, do exercise, do a million things but always one way or the other revert to being obese again? Well the reason this happens is that they have a self image of themselves as being fat.

If a person wakes up in the morning, sees him/herself in the mirror and 'thinks' or 'says to himself', that he or she is fat, the subconscious mind is right there hearing loud and clear. If a person does this everyday, day after day, the subconscious mind has absolutely no other choice but to make it a reality, because the subconscious mind believes this is true(it has no other choice).

We, as humans have invented many things, but we have not been able to invent a way to lie to our subconscious mind, at least not for an extended period of time. We are a product of what our subconscious mind believes is true. Our subconscious mind only accepts truth.

But we don't want to fight our subconscious. The more you make or the more you try to change any aspect in your subconscious mind by force, the harder it is accomplish any long term success.

Do you see now, when some people get up in the morning, 'think' they are fat when they see themselves in the mirror, spend all day, everyday, with this idea in their heads, reminding the very faithful subconscious by constant repetition of this apparent truth?

Do you guys see why it is so difficult to lose weight if you are acting against what your innerself believes to be truth? It is almost impossible.

So, how do you 'conquer' your subconscious ? How do you change your inner self image without upsetting your subconscious?

Here are some very easy steps you can start using immediately. You will have to use your imagination, hope you don't get too tired..=)

Step number 1.- Even if this sounds crazy just do it. STOP thinking that you are fat. Your subconscious hears and accepts everything you think and say.

Imagine yourself thin. With the exact appearance you desire, build a picture of yourself in your mind. The more vivid the picture the better. Or better said, the more MEGAPIXELS the clearer will be the message your conscious sends to your subconscious mind and it will save it your mental hard drive and will start believing it as true.

Make pictures of yourself, stepping out of your favorite car, looking exactly how you would like to. Opening the front door of your house(mansion) to receive guests exactly as you would like to look like. USE your imagination.

And from now on when you see yourself in the mirror, or are in a situation which could remind of of your present unwanted weight, bring these very vivid pictures into your mind and do this as much as you possibly can everyday.

In short time, your subconscious mind will start believing that the TRUTH is that you are slim and that being overweight is a lie and it will start working with you in harmony to make it's truth reality just as it has always done, without any effort on your part.

Step number 2.- Become conscious of your EXACT weight.

Every morning when you wake up, before taking a shower or drinking or eating anything, go to the Wc and try to get rid of everything your body will let you. Naked and as light as possible, weigh yourself.

Do this everyday, make it a habit.

As time goes by, your conscious mind and your body will 'synchronize', meaning your will notice changes in your daily weight by your actions of the previous day or days. It is really cool when you become perfectly conscious of your exact weight.

If you take these two steps to heart you will undoubtedly have the body you desire in the future. How it will happen is not important, just KNOW it will happen.

A few tips for things that might happen in your future...

1.- If you decide to start losing weight, don't try to lose 50 lbs all at once. Do 5 lbs first. Then 10 and then sets of 10 or whatever you feel comfortable with. Be good to yourself and your body first.

2.- There will also be a time or there is a good chance you will want to pick up some type of exercise routine. It will happen naturally, you have no reason to "make yourself' do anything, don't worry.

When that time comes please remember the following. It is important for you not to over do it. Whatever you decide to do even if it is just to walk around the block once a day, do the minimum possible.

BUT do it everyday of the week. (do the least possible so you dont have to take days off) That is really important. A body that is not used to doing exercise will probably give up if you try too hard at the beginning. Be good to yourself and your body in this area too.

By starting and doing the minimum possible your chances of making any type of exercise a daily routine with no effort are much much higher.

3.- One thing that helped me get my mind off the need to eat solid food everyday was doing the master cleanser diet.(book by Borroughs)

PLEASE do your own diligence on this matter.

I did the diet to clean my body, (kind of a tuneup of sorts), but the fact that I went days without eating anything solid and kept my energy levels high or even higher was a real eye opener. It was just amazing. I plan do this diet twice a year.

If you do research and have any further questions on this please post them.

I believe that is it for me.

I wish you and all others reading this for the same purpose the best of luck and success.

I was wondering if any of the people advocating the small meal/many meal plan, had any recomendations on meals. I usually only make it to the store once a week, but would love some ideas that would keep for the whole week. Finding time tocook 6 meals a day just isn't in the books. Thanks for any ideas you migh have.

I imagine that alcohol has the same "furnace cooling" effect that simple carbs has? Just hoping against hope that it isn't as bad as I would think.

  8. Mvic has some good stuff there, but he seems to be suggesting about a cup and a half of food basically, in total volume?

Sounds about right to me, two cups in volume, per day, should help with weight loss.
Its been pointed out before, it only takes a day with good quality foods to be craving fresh vegies etc, says me.

Oddly, my marvellous trail muffin meets the requirements of mvics "fit it under the palm " requirement, and golly, here it is!!!!This is a high output muffin, though. Eat this trekking, or pay the price.(very high in fibre etc)
    ----------------------------------

    Speaking of cooking, if you were in the andes, you might enjoy this blockbuster trail muffin, as follows;

    1 1/2 cups rolled oats,
    1/2 cup shredded/dessicated coconut

A couple of tablespoons of choc chips, probably doesnt matter what sort

a couple of tablespoons of raisins

Mix em up in a bowl, add golden syrup until it kinda sticks all together-not too much though, about 1/3 cup should do, then mix like a feind.
It wont look like it WILL stick together in the tray, but thats what caremilisation is for, and thats why you pat it down later.

For extra moisture, drizzle in olive oil, help things mix, maybe a couple tablespoons if you have the patience, (more if you dont) and a few teaspoons of water just to help it mix, because you dont want to get caught with too much golden syrup.

Right, dollop that out into a muffin tray, this amount of mix should go perfectly into a standard 6 muffin tray, spray with oil first or whatever you might normally do.

Pat down well with a fork, so theres no gaps in the mixture, bake at the standard 180 C for about , say, 30 minutes seems about right so far.

Let cool to room temp, then try and get the suckers out of there.

Shouldnt need refrigeration, and should last ages, nothing in it to go off-just wrap in glad wrap or something.

Just the ticket for arduous outdoor activity, like a muesli bar only tougher, and with homemade only -a -real -man- could- eat -a- whole one kinda credibilty.

  9. Also, if your serious about getting to the store once a week, you need brown rice as a base for starters, followed by vast amounts of vermicelli noodles, potatoes are also great;
Many of my previous posts have great recipes, i'd hate to condemn anyone to trawling through my old posts just for recipes-just limit it to chit-chat, i wont gaurantee results on the search, but ive put some great gear recipe wise in chit chat.

Err, you can freeze stuff, right?

yes I can freeze stuff. I like cooking home cooked meals and such. I just don't have the time and energy to shop much more than that. I was thinking along the lines of home made bean salad for breakfast. craker and cheese for snack before and after lunch of piece of flank steak. Salad when I get home and then some more meat for dinner. I think most of that stuff will last for a week. The oats and stuff sounds pretty good. I just need a couple of different options to not get board. Thanks for any ideas. Thanks for your help/ideas/comments.
