Help me buy a new car (and what about cars and gender?)

  1. I think the Z4 is a two bagger (pardon the pun.)

The forerunner to the 3000, the BN1 and BN2, 1953-1956, were 4's. TR-6, a lot of Aston-Martins, including the "Bond" car were all sixes. There were sixes in all the E-Types up to 1971 and every 300SL whether soft top or gullwing, as well as all 1990 & up 300SL's and some SL320's. Maserati had many sixes. Don't forget the first Corvette also.

  2. AAA...yesterday when I got the car, it was pouring rain. But this morning was beautiful. I put the top down, and the sound reminded me immediately of my dad's 1960 Austin Healy!!

Max, I hope you are right, but it sure doesn't look like it. I haven't tried yet to get my bag in....it looks close (but I did take my driver down, and it fit sideways with some room to spare).

Good pun from your "eyes of the beholder" !! :) :) :)
Your humor is getting better all the time. Can't wait to have cocktails with ya'.

Max, when you have the chance, you really should do a post listing all the things you DON'T know about!! Shouldn't be much trouble. What? One or two lines?

    Who love's ya baby?

    Peace,
    :)RS

  5. You already stiffed me on dinner, what makes you think I would now fall for drinks?

  6. I think it would be a pretty cool car for a young real young guy.
When I was in college, I would have loved to have had something like a TR4 or a MGB. Or even smaller like a Sprite or even a Midget. And Triumph had one also.. Spitfire. (THERE was an ugly car!!).

To me, that's the kind of a car a Miata is now. Just more reliable and more evolved. (They have had a glass back window for a few years. The Boxster just got it this year).

Just my $.02. In the meantime, it seems to be a car that men do not drive, and women do. So there is validity to Max's point. Same with the Volkswagen New beetle. I don't know if I have ever seen a grown man drive one. The BMW Z3 seemed also to be a car that women drove.

Another female "gender" car would have to be pretty much any mini-van. Designed for "soccer moms".

    Peace,
    :)RS

  7. Excuse me????? I "stiffed you on dinner"? When did this happen? You said you would be here (at least that is how I interpreted it) on or about June 3rd. I PM'd you my phone number.

    How did I "stiff" you???

  8. How soon we forget. Your offer was, I choose, you pay; I picked Pinnochio's, you cried and backed out. Sheesh!

  9. Yes, well I thought we were talking about Boca.

When did I "cry"? I could not "back out" of anything I had not agreed to. I had no idea you meant Monaco and not Florida.

Offer still stands. For anywhere between, let's say, Jupiter (Florida, not the planet) and Key Largo. Not east of the beach, and not west of Naples. Big enough area?

    Peace,
    :)RS
