I also believe E-signal overcharges for their services. Quoting messages makes it more difficult to find and delete too....
Steelhead, Like Tweaker I only trade the e-minis so unfortunately I can't speak for a reliable stock datafeed. Check out Interactive Brokers, though. You can get your data from them and there are methods of backfilling to compensate for the live-only data. I'm sure others have some suggestions for you. opm8
Steelhead, I use esignal for Eurex only. I'm trading swings so I don't even care if the price action is a minute late. My problem is that esignal is a CPU hog that runs my very fast computer at close to 100% with only four or five charts open. The scripts I run process a lot of tick data. If esignal had of started working on multi-threading a 24 months ago, they would now have it. But they put it off and now with futures volumes doubling every year, the platform simply can't process all that data on one core. If they had of introduced multi-threading I could now be running a quad core machine with each core processing 25% of my charts. Instead, esignal can't cope. What esignal doesn't realise is that today's heavy user is tomorrows average user. In two years time most traders will be complaining about what I'm complaining about now. Runningbear
Hello people, This is my first post and I am new to this data feed thing. Tell me if I am right or wrong: If I download and subscribe to "opentick," pay the necessary exchange fees and downlaod "ninja trader" - I will have a very good real time charting system. One that can rival at least the basic functions of E-Signal. Is this true or am I missing something?
Isn't the DAX a bit 'thin' for the test? It has spikes and volume surges of course but the ticks/second are quite low usually. Mind you if thats all you need data for and its timely thats fine. Seems that DAX alone isn't enough for e$ignal to hit barf point? Why not wack up some DJ Stoxx instruments too. Again if all you need is DAX data and that works why bother Cheers.
Reduke, On zenfire I simply want a quote board of es +2 nq +3 etc. At this time I can't get this info. If you can get it on the zenfire feed please let me know because collin at amp futures said it won't be available for 3-4 weeks. I trade stocks and want zenfire only for its superior speed in futures quotes.
Trump, Opentick will not be as fast as esignal and dtniq which themselves are not that fast compared to some options. Zenfire and ttfeed will be your best bet for cheap fast futures quotes.
Instead of spending money on R&D eSignal decided to buyout a competitor (qChart) instead ... now they got qChart users loading off their already saturated server farm... sad...
