I only read the first post and I've struggled with the same sort of problem. After thinking about the problems in my trading, I thought about and tested several methods in two different demo accounts. I finally had some positive results with one method (although I haven't tried it with real money yet, that will come very soon). In any case, I'm not quite ready to reveal my method to the world, but suffice to say that you may need a quicker way of getting in. If your risk/reward ratio is favorable, the higher whipsaw rate of a quicker signal will make up for it in the size of the moves you can capture.
