Help a listed guy with nasdaq

  1. arca market order will hit the best price in arca. same thing on INET. You just need to configure hotkeys for all 3 ecns... But I think some brokers have smart routing softwares that can do that for you.

  3. ISB = Inet book, ARB = Arca book.

Don't attempt to trade Nasdaq unless your software has Nasdaq 'TotalView'.

Why do you say that about "Totalview"?...Reason i ask is that Cyber had it and then moved away from it...i never saw a big difference.....

  5. why do use total view? hell i trade stocks like aapl, sndk and brcm and they move so fast seeing the market makers means zip. i basically use a smart order and try to take liquidity if i can. stocks like aaple will move 10-15 cents in seconds many times so i let it hit me. i like nasdaq much better than nyse as its everything from instant shorts to instant fills

  7. Hey traders,

I can't understand why some of you want to switch to nasdaq now. Because NYSE is now becoming nasdaq. The new nyse hybrid system is very similar to nasdaq. You will see what I mean, when the nyse goes in full hybrid mode. For example, today I traded ODP and it is one of the few stocks in nyse that turned hybrid this week. And the fills were instantaneous. Whatever the specialist shows, is what you get. No more holding orders!! I placed several market orders in ODP today and got filled in less than a second. It's really awesome if you can live up to the speed.
Also, through my experience in nasdaq, I can say that arca hits everything. Arca searches for the best price everywhere. It even hits the pacific exchange. And I thought island was the one that only routes to island. But I am not sure if hits market maker quotes. Correct me if I am wrong.

  8. arca has something called proactive that hits the best price no matter if its arca or outside. if its outside them they charge an extra .0001 per share. so when you traded odp today were those instaneous fills threw arca are nyse? if threw arca there's a stiff .003 charge hitting bids and asks. still can't short as a nyse stock is falling vs doing so on naz. also were's a list of nyse stocks on hybrid and when will all nsye stocks be on hybrid?

  10. Hi Brandon,

I placed my trades through nyse. That is why I was able to tell the difference between a normal nyse stock fill speed and a hybrid nyse stock fill speed. Here's the link to the list of stocks that are trading "hybrid" right now and those that are scheduled to trade hybrid soon:

    http://www.nyse.com/marketinfo/hybm...ampaign=/internal_ads/callouts/hybridoverview

Click on the "Activated secuirties list" for the current list.

However, I don't see all the nyse stocks in the "complete list". I can't understand why.
