hello friends,i'm a new comer and excellent speculator

  1. Let's put all these talk about Chinese economic structure aside (while it is intellectually interesting, I won't make any money writing B grade Chinese history papers), and get to the trading discussions.

Geowalker, what kind of market do you trade? What kind of system (discretionary, trend following, etc, etc) do you use? What kind of general time frames? You mentioned that you trade tech in one of your posts.

I use a pure automated system (no human involvement) trading on mostly futures and futures option markets (largely on CME). It seems that foreign entities are buying up minority stakes in Chinese banks in a frenzy, other than participating in Chinese bank IPOs (which I believe would be a short term gainer until the bad loans start to float to the surface, call me a pessmist).

For a tech firm (hard tech, not Internet or E-Commerce based, which is a different story) to succeed in China, it must focus on intellectual property (IP) rights, isnt' the IP law in China still rather lax (in comparison to western courts)? Then how does a tech firm maintain its R&D advantage?

Everyone made a little money on BAIDU (naturally), but the steam is seeping out. China Construction bank is the latest hot IPO, and it will do well, with a good 30% pop when listed on Hang Seng.

  5. haha.i also want to give him a lightly slap on the face because of his crafty smile.but we chinese are not so crude as some americans.the old guy looks cuter than president Bush.
the US government always wants to control other countries at will.even north korea can say no to it,not mentioned to china,a large country with the longest history in the world.its superman dream is ridiculous.anyway i like usa better than dislike.

geo, nihao and welcome to ET. From what you've written so far it seems that you've got a good head on your shoulders. Don't worry about your English - some native speakers here make more spelling/gramm. mistakes than you. :D

If you haven't already, check out www.maoxian.com . The Chairman (Chris) is fluent in Chinese.

I started a Journal to showcase his 'dummy' trades

  7. i just trade chinese futures market now.my system is trend following .i think trading is a fun game so i don't like automated system.and now i prefer day-trading in 1 minute frame for my launch money is not large enough.
of course a good trend-following system can also well be applied in the stock market, but before the index futures is launched,i don't want to care much it.futures market is the best industry for original accumulation.

  8. xiexie.sincerely thank you for your encourgements.english is indeed a problem when sometimes i have many words to say and want to argue about some questions with friends and wanto to show you the long-historied chinese culture but don't know how to express smoothl especially for the lack of many english words and phrases.but the problem is not very serious,i think.i have enough time and intelligence improving it.i believe after 1 year you will see a completely new me.haha.thanks
i have visited the websites you supplied and added them to my favourites.when trading is over i start reading them carefully.

  9. grshpr :
You needn't be so serious.i was just kidding.maybe you think what i said hurt you. i don't know much about americans' thoughts, but it completely isn't my intention.in fact i like americans very much except for some matters, for example the Iraq War.i apologize to those who are angry with my words.
With regard to child sex slaves,i think you don't know any truth.there are seldom these cases in china.pics you see on the internet are from Japan or some southeastern countries.do you know?of course,in usa,the same cases also exist.maybe so is it in china.
Every government has the responsibility to maintain its nation interest.but it should take civilized ways.USA launched many wars for the goal.for example,it attacked Iraq for crude oil and selling weapons, and is it not rude in this point?it's for the same goal that china keeps the fixed echange rate.it's determined by politicians, not us.
I come here just for improving myself and making some friends, not for politics argument or other purposes.from now on i will be more careful of my words.
but i still think you should not say those fierce words.
    Moderator,please delete that message,thank you.

  10. P.S.
Taiwan is part of China,so i think it isn't overladen to describe the US government using "rude" at all for its unreasonable interruptions to this problem.
however,i still like usa for its freedom, democracy(imperfect),adventurous and open minds.i have no prejudice to any race.
ok,i don't want to mention politics topics any more here.they are politicians' tasks. Also ET is just a financial forum.
