Wall street needs another group of 'one stock to retire on' concept stocks to be the next public mania stocks. Internet boom was years ago and commodities story is running out of steam/suckers and actially requires infrastructure investment whereas as we have seen, a multibillion dollar hedge fund can be created overnight. What's a management fee compared to selling half the company. Performance? what's that got to do with it - about as much profits did with internet stocks. A legitimate reason would be to replace hot money with longer term equity capital that would not flee on a 5% drawdown.
