Tim's fund down almost 7% in Jan, after being down close to 26% in '06. All this tv exposure must have messed with his head and affected his trading for the past 6-8 months.
My goodness....you would think a certain elitetrader poster here would at least try to hide his envy of Tim. (Nothing but Tim comments) Either that or he wants to share his pillow with him at night.
I would be the first to pat Tim on the back for his success if he did not come across as a complete tool, make his mommy come over and do all his chores for him, talk about how $50,000 is not a good day anymore if he makes that, lose his cool on camera because he was down a couple of thousand dollars on a scalp trade (making $50k is not big anymore but losing $3k is horrible lol) etc..... even he would admit the PR he got was horrible from the show
It's clear the guy made most of his money in penny stocks or some other exploding stocks...you know how hard it is to trade $12k or whatever he supposedly started out with into $1.6M? I've done it and most of it was from penny stocks and then some well made decisions and holds. When they show the guy trading at his screen it's clear he's not a trader but probably better at buying penny stocks and then letting them run. Once you hit a certain point in $$$ figures you can't trade penny stocks the same way because of illiquidity...I had the same problem. I'm no trader and thought I could become one buy my mentality isn't suited to it...therefore I recognize he's the same. Unless he goes back to buying penny stocks for nice gains there's no way he's going to make money trading...he doesn't have it in him and he got lucky/has a knack for penny stocks....I'm very similar to him, except I like to think I'm not a dipshit putz like he is. I hope he fails because he likes to pretend like he's a genius trader and it's clear he's not...his ego is far ahead of him.
