Well thank you for taking the time to post a screenshot. I still think that you are an asshole and not a whole lot different than Tim with the arrogance/douchbagedness, but you get just as much respect from me as I have for Tim in terms of money.

You say Tim is a douchbag for the way he acts, which I agree he did come off as a douchbag based on the TV series, but how is the way you act/the comments you've made in this thread much different?

  5. I don't trade with them. I invest in a lot of small and micro caps and when you buy 30,000 shares of something it's a lot cheaper flat rate than paying the other commission structures.

I'm much different than Tim. I don't bullshit about my "fund" because I'm not dumb enough to have one structured even though I can't get any investors. Tim is a turd who can't trade but attempts to keep up the persona of being some great trader by arguing about how no one in recent years, who has made thousands of trades, can do what he does. Then he flip-flops and says that he's not a great trader, yada yada yada. Couple that with his arrogance about the money he made in 98-02 and you have the mix for a "has-been" who hasn't turned more than a 1.5% profit in 4 fucking years. 4 years is since Tim was 22, it's a long fucking time in the life of someone young....you should know that if you're really so young. I do! :p

You'll notice Tim doesn't even respond to me because I address salient points about a guy who hasn't made any money in 4 years, has had his investors pull most of their money from his fund, and who is now writing a book(real money maker?) and probably shouldn't be because he doesn't know anything. If Tim could make money trading he would, but apparently he can't and needs to write a book instead which he attempts to sell as a book to inspire and teach when really it's him grasping at straws. It sounds like his therapist is also his marketing guy trying to spin his desperation into what looks like a philanthropic effort. :p

I think a lot of people can do what I do and had actually attempted to start a thread here hoping to help others learn about how not to get burned by micro and small caps. I'm only an asshole for fun, I'm actually a decent person I'd say. You can judge me all you want...but Tim is a douche bag more than an asshole from what I've seen on tv and in this thread.

I just question why some guy in his position, which should be one of strength since he brags about turning $12k into $1.6M(who the fuck cares about pre-tax?!), is writing a piddly little book when he should be using his skill to turn that $1.6M into $5 or $10M? He can't pal...he just doesn't admit it. He can't so he's trying to hang on to his 15 minutes of fame and he's writing a book. Look, any guy who has barely turned a profit in 4 years is writing a book about his trades and his ups and downs should fucking switch over to the journals forum and start a journal...not publish some fucking book. Those journals are everything Tim's book is and more probably...at least many of those journals have been written by guys who had to work for something in their lives.

I hope you mature a bit and see tim is a putz. You'd certainly be wasting your money by buying the book and I'm only an asshole because I care! :D

I've got to say you do make a lot of sense, and I do have a lot more respect now that you've actually proved that it's not all just talk. But anywho I will still probablly buy the book, it's not that I'm looking to learn what Tim did to make his money, more so what he did to loose it. And for an entertaining read. You can hate the kid all you want but he is mildly entertaining in a wierd jewish way.

On a personal note, how you commented on my noobness previously, I won't lie I am a pretty big noob at trading.. But I do consistantly make money with no losses (minus a small practice account) so at least I know I'm trading with the right team of people. If you're only 25, or whatever you said you were you sound like you're in a good position so all the power to you.

  7. Thanks man. Good luck to you, find a niche though and work on it. Don't trade with the rest of them if you want to be independent.

Tim's book will be a pop-book...if you're looking for a good pop book about finance there are plenty that will teach you a lot more...some are very light reads too like "Running Money(which is more entertainment than education)" or some others. Seriously, if you want a book on trading experiences at least couple it with a book that teaches you something.

    Good luck. :D

haha true. Maybe I'll look into small caps :p I here it's a pretty good market. Stocks and everything are confusing though, I see all these books about trading technicaly, how to do this and that, yada yada, and I don't really care. I want a book that will teach me the lingo, teach me how to read prices/just a basic know how on stocks/futures/everything not forex. Everything just seems so much more complicated. I guess I could go to school, but lets be real here; no one likes summer school when your mommies making you do it. :D

I did figure one thing out though... If I doubled my little practice account flukely 12 times it wouldn't be so little anymore:eek:. If only it was that easy.

P.S. Sorry about the harsh words. I didn't mean it haha.

  9. Surf and Timothy Sykes (Timmay!) continue to collaborate and share each others strategies; so maybe that is the problem with both of their poor performance records?
