Religion always was about power. If it weren't for the military and religion the unemployment rate would triple.
You always try to convince us that the universe appears designed, yet nobody has refuted this fact. But the appearance of design does not mean the universe was designed by a creator. This is not evidence, despite the fact that you claim it to be. Appearances can be deceiving.
The difference between a scientist like Hawking and a theologist is that Hawking is capable of admitting when he is wrong. As soon as new facts emerged, he changed his opinion. Religion has not changed opinion in thousands of years, despite a gargantuan amount of new facts.
You mean science doesn't allow for a creator from nothing but it supposedly allows for a universe from nothing?
Actually, that's not true. I'm not saying they're right or wrong, and I'm no theologian, but the history of religion is full of change.
No, science understands that ultimately its a mystery, its religion thats so damned cocksure of how existence came about.
One is no more or less plausible than the other. Well I'm with science then. So how is it our esteemed ET atheists are so cocksure of themselves when according to you the very science they claim backs them up admits it's a mystery?
