I agree. But the public... can't handle the truth. Already just about everyone who has thought about it has come down on either the "can't continue" or "can't stop" side, i.e. we're polarized here, too.

I agree.GOP does have an edge though, they can be honest with their voters about their pro drilling position and not lose any votes because of it.

Currents in the Atlantic Ocean could slow sharply by century’s end, new research shows, affecting weather patterns across the globe.
The new research, published in the journal Nature Communications, adds to a growing body of scientific work that describes how humankind’s continued emissions of heat-trapping gases could set off rapid and hard-to-reverse changes in the environment.

They and every President since the 70's has broken any promise involving "oil drilling positions" because life changes in the world the day they're elected that's a rude slap in the face of reality.

Part of that reality, consumers refuse to believe they're needed as part of the solution. Instead, we naively believe the government can do it all without us.

Seriously, as an example, I was recently stuck in rush-hour traffic...more than 1/2 of the vehicles I saw had a single occupant and we all were going in the same direction. Also, while driving through the neighborhood...mostly children and teenagers were on bikes or walking. On my street...only one house has an electric vehicle charger...the owner has two hybrid automobiles.

Regardless, the four largest environmental organizations in the country understand that reality and they said they are endorsing President Biden’s bid for re-election, despite anger from activists over his approval of a string of fossil fuel projects, including an enormous oil drilling plan in Alaska and a natural gas pipeline from West Virginia through Virginia.
    • The League of Conservation Voters, the Sierra Club, the Natural Resources Defense Council and NextGen America said they were setting aside their concerns over those projects — and the planet-warming emissions they will release.
I'm not joking, consumers and businesses have a crazy appetite for oil as key to their quality of life...we just don't realize we're fucking up the future of our children and grandchildren.

Another reality, it's a global problem...the entire world needs to go green. Thus, we need to help every elected leader and dictator in the world by doing our part...good luck with that.

Not a single bit of scientific rigor has been applied to this thread.

...The endorsements are some of the earliest by major environmental groups in a presidential contest. It is also the first time the four groups have made a joint endorsement.

In lining up behind the president more than 16 months before the election, some advocates said they hoped to remind Democratic voters that Mr. Biden had enacted the biggest climate legislation in U.S. history, pouring at least $370 billion into clean energy and electric vehicles. His administration has also proposed strict regulations on pollution from automobiles, trucks and power plants that are designed to slash the nation’s emissions to their lowest levels in decades.

“This is an administration that has done more to advance climate solutions than any by far,” said Tiernan Sittenfeld, the senior vice president of government affairs for the League of Conservation Voters.

.....The unyielding response of Italy, France and Germany came amidst a tsunami of global condemnation for Trump’s decision to renege on an agreement made by 195 countries after decades of negotiation. The US will join Syria and Nicaragua as the only governments to be outside the agreement.....

I find the above to be amazing considering Biden has issue 1,000 more drilling permits than Trump.

Thus, it seems to me they're willing to take a step backwards with Biden to be able to make bigger strides forward in the future especially knowing they will need a President willing to work with other world leaders on the issue of climate change.

If humans hadn't razed forests in the Amazon and Asia.
Building roads, cities, buildings and farmland by destroying and burning timber and failing to replenish what they raped.

We are a bunch of idiots. Hopefully, I'm not still alive to see a global disaster that wipes out most of the human population...a global disaster that we idiots created because of the damage we did to our planet.

Climate groups may endorse Biden, doesn't mean climate voters will. From my democrat volunteer group climate voters are the most pissed with Biden and wont be volunteering nor voting for him again, followed by blacks than white progressives.
