No hurry at all? You may want to consult farmers and fishermen about that. Or anybody that doesn't live in a city (except for those mining coal).
Tech takes time, better to get it right first time slowly than rush it and waste time and resources. What part of billions will die if we stop using oil!
So why are we adding a carbon tax on fuel that farmers and fishermen need to earn a living. A cost that increases the price that people need to pay for their food - hurting those most who live in poverty. All to cure a non-existent global warming problem.
20-30 should allow us to 95% reduce oil, which is happening anyway calm down, the problem is being sorted.
What "other side"? Did you not just read the statements of the science orgs? None, zero, nada dispute it. There IS no other credible "side" within the climate science community. The consensus is 97%. The other less than 3% work for the fossil fuel companies and related interests or are simply doddering old morons. The doubt is not within the science community.
If we burn all the fossil fuels we will doom the planet. We can't do that. At least not without carbon sequestration.
Either way, we are solving the problem, but it'll take time, if we panic and stop using oil for something that may effect us badly in 100 years time, there civilisation stops, mass panic and food shortage kill billions and all the wars fighting over scraps. Is that so hard to understand ?? And it's 60% to global warming is real, 40% it isn't! Well before it gets really bad, if all goes to plan we'd of pretty much stopped using fossil fuels, with the effect reducing all the time as we improve it's really a none issue. CALM DOWN!!
