Tax cuts? Hahahahaha. Dude, cutting the top rate from 39.5% to 35% is not a tax cut, it's an embarrassment. And right now your boy Barry is fighting 3 wars. Smack!

  7. I don't consider 2.8 trillion an embarrassment

Tax cuts are estimated to have totaled $2.8 trillion, which we guess would count as “trillions,” as the president put it. Strictly speaking, the two big tax cuts during the Bush years are estimated to total about $1.5 trillion, But many continued into the early years of the Obama presidency, and in December he cut a deal with Republicans to extend them even more, which brings us to $2.8 trillion.

(In case you are wondering, the cost of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars was $1.26 trillion through 2011 and the Medicare prescription drug program totaled $272 billion.)

  9. Math does not add up. 39.5% to 35% = $2.8 trillion in tax cuts? This means that the rich pay $24.5 trillion per year in taxes according to those figures. That means we could pay the national debt off this year, have our 3.6 trillion dollar budget and still mail off a stimulus check to every man woman and child for $20k and still have a surplus.

Well, it's actually over 10 years. They throw out the trillion number for dramatic effect. More like 280 billion a year. Or to put it another way, a fraction of the bullshit foreign aid we give to corrupt middle eastern dictators every year.
