he United States is "setting fire to the Internet"

  1. An article on Tor: http://arstechnica.com/security/201...el-tor-anonymity-and-spy-on-users-memos-show/

IMO, the most obvious potential source of spyware is the virus protection software itself. I recently asked my supplier if they had ever issued a statement by the CEO clearly stating that they do not gather any information on your computer for any government agency. The saleslady got really angry really fast which struck me as odd to a simple basic question. I will do some more research on it myself since they clearly will not help answer something that could be a great marketing win for their software.

Has anyone seen any answers to the request contained in this article:

It would seem to compromise their business, yet I have never understood the true purpose of so many virus releases in the wild in the first place. They come too fast IMO to be simply kids at universities. Is their purpose really just fear to sell products? It would seem there are easier targets (no pun intended).

Sadly, I don't see anyway to ever be sure of anything on modern computers.
