To get it right, you have to go for a 1080p screen ie the resolution is 1920 x1080. You need to use the HDMI in for best results. On the computer if you don't have an HDMI out, you can a DVI to HDMI adapter, or a cable with a DVI (not VGA) connection at one end and HDMI at the other.

I do have an HDMI output from my laptop. And as far as the Samsungs go I always thought they looked the best.

Or we can always pick up a few of these. FlexScan SX3031W http://www.eizo.com/global/products/flexscan/sx3031w/index.html And it's so cheap (he said facetiously).
I consider it quite a bargain at $3,295.
