Hawaii Governor Can't Find Obama Birth Certificate

Discussion in 'Politics' started by pspr, Jan 18, 2011.

  1. They changed how that is handled a few years ago. Now the birth notices are given to the paper by the health department and they no longer print announcements by family.

  2. Boy, nothing stops you conspiracy looney tunes, does it?
Comprehensive debunkings that put to rest every single last thing ever brought up on this subject have been posted right here on ET.
Out in the real world, cases have not just been thrown out of court, they've been thrown out of court with great force, and the perpetrators of these "cases" have either been threatened with or actually fined, for wasting the time of the courts.
Have your fun, but let me put it this way: if pspr, a raving loon if ever there was one, believes this stuff, it's already too stupid for anyone with two working brain cells to rub together to seriously consider.

Actually between the two of you pspr's posts are thoughtful and considered. Your posts are just wild rants, bomb throwing and constant personal attacks. If you weren't completely feckless and harmless I would put you on ignore but that just isn't necessary.

  4. Please step back for a moment, as I illustrate your false conclusion.

    Your conclusion stated below is:

"Therefore no one in HI has proof he was born there."

Logically that simply does not follow from what you stated preceding your conclusion.

Logically is it possible that someone in Hawaii does have proof, but is hiding it?

    Yes.

Is it logically possible that some anti Obama person took the records so that they cannot be found?

    Yes.

Is it then logically possible that someone in Hawaii does have proof, but for whatever reason is not presenting it?

    Yes, of course.

The burden of proof is on the birthers, not Obama. They just don't seem to get that...

Before we had people in HI gov't saying they had the Originals and that Obama was born there. So pinheads like you and Maher and Ranger Rover and the dopes on MSNBC thought they had a right to make fun of birther's intelligence.

Now we seem to have no originals. And Obama's relatives are dead.
So far no in the world has produced evidence of his birth. who in HI has evidence of Obama's birth. And don't tell me about an Internet BC that Obama himself has never proffered as proof...

Maybe Obama has proof-- but he is not in HI.

Therefore no one in HI has proof he was born there.

Your presentations are appeals to ignorance and emotion, and they may work in a courtroom or at a pep rally...but they do not withstand the test of logic which is much more demanding. This may be why many lawyers can make a case, but they fail when it comes to the rigors of logical thinking.

    Nice try.

You can play word games all you like... if there is no official record of Obama being born in HI, where HI keeps those records... you got a whole lot nothing. Perhaps an obama loon removed the records.. it does not matter. You still have no official record.

  6. After being exposed, you go from:

"Therefore no one in HI has proof he was born there."

    To:

"You still have no official record."

    Funny.

This just in: Election officials put Obama on the ballot in 2008.

Yes, there was enough sufficient to make it official that he was eligible.

Keep playing a game you can't win...

Jem, I think you are right in your other post when you said some states are passing legislation requiring candidates to prove qualifications in order to be placed on the ballot. So, Obama will have to put up or shut up (or sue). If someone doesn't find a birth certificate for him somewhere this year we'll see some interesting law suits in 2012 that will probably have to be heard by a federal court.

The burden of proof is always on the candidate to meet the legal qualifications to run for an office whether it is a local, state or national election. At the local and state level, there are officials to check the requirements and make sure the candidates are eligible. The only office where there are no checking is for the president and vice president of the United States. If there is a question concerning the legal qualification of candidates for these offices, the only alternative is to file a lawsuit in federal court at which time a candidate in question should present proof of his eligibility. But it appears some states are closing this loophole by requiring 'all' candidates in their state to prove eligibilty before they are placed on the state ballot. This is a positive step to ensure candidates meet the legal requirements for the two highest offices in our country. Why should a candidate for local school board be required to provide proof of qualification eligibility but a candidate for president does not?

Hawaii law bars release of Obama birth info

    (AP) – 10 hours ago

HONOLULU (AP) — A privacy law that shields birth certificates has prompted Democratic Gov. Neil Abercrombie to abandon efforts to dispel claims that President Barack Obama was born outside Hawaii, his office says.

State Attorney General David Louie told the governor that privacy laws bar him from disclosing an individual's birth documentation without the person's consent, Abercrombie spokeswoman Donalyn Dela Cruz said Friday.

"There is nothing more that Gov. Abercrombie can do within the law to produce a document," said Dela Cruz. "Unfortunately, there are conspirators who will continue to question the citizenship of our president."

Abercrombie, who was a friend of Obama's parents and knew him as a child, launched an investigation last month into whether he can release more information about the president's Aug. 4, 1961 birth. The governor said at the time he was bothered by people who questioned Obama's birthplace for political reasons.

But Abercrombie's attempt reached a dead end when Louie told him the law restricted his options.

Hawaii's privacy laws have long barred the release of a certified birth certificate to anyone who doesn't have a tangible interest.

So-called "birthers" claim Obama is ineligible to be president because they say there's no proof he was born in the United States, with many of the skeptics questioning whether he was actually born in Kenya, his father's home country.

Hawaii's health director said in 2008 and 2009 that she had seen and verified Obama's original vital records, and birth notices in two Honolulu newspapers were published within days of Obama's birth at Kapiolani Maternity and Gynecological Hospital in Honolulu.

Health Department spokeswoman Janice Okubo again confirmed Friday that Obama's name is found in its alphabetical list of names of people born in Hawaii, maintained in bound copies available for public view.

That information, called index data, shows a listing for "Obama II, Barack Hussein, Male," according to the department's website.

"The index is just to say who has their records within the department. That's an indication," Okubo said. "I can't talk about anyone's records."

The Obama campaign issued a certificate of live birth in 2008, an official document from the state showing the president's birth date, city and name, along with his parents' names and races.

Of course, now that they can't find it, that is.

Surely Abercrombie knew about the law forbidding him to release Obama's birth certificate. So, without some exception in the law, why did he even bother getting everyone worked up over this? Unless it just doesn't exist in the records and he is falling back on this law to cover his ass.

Let's see what happens when Obama can't get on the ballot in 2012 without it.
