VPhantom, I'm going to quote the above in my journal - thanks for putting this together. And listen to me - Don't sweat the trolls. I let a few of them get to me early on also. It truly isn't worth it. Life is too wonderful and too short to spend it fighting these people. Work on yourself, and work on your trading, and let DbPhoenix handle the misinformation. He has far more experience at it than you and I and several dozen apprentices combined. Do not feel that you need to defend yourself to anyone. Those who care take notice of you. Rest assured you have their good opinion, and nothing a troll says to you or about you could cause you to lose their good opinion. If these bitter argumentative people were even 1/10th as successful as they would have us believe they are, do you think they would spend even one minute of their lives engaged in cranky criticisms with anonymous internet handles? Focus on the task at hand, not internet combat. It is the most ridiculous waste of human talent and energy and time when used for that purpose. Read, study, observe, and learn, and when you find yourself doing better than you could ever have imagined, pay it forward.
Indeed. Which is why I welcome the contributions of bitter, angry, unsuccessful traders. They help beginners see what can happen to them if they fail to develop thoroughly-tested and consistently-profitable trading plans.
This is quite the interesting find VP. Given Db's massive 15,000 posts, I have no idea how you found it... or how you even knew these two original threads existed! I'm just quickly browsing them right now, and I find it very interesting how much things have changed for him. The talk from this era seems very much more focused on a statistical nature, whereas all the new stuff is much more centered on getting a feel for who is in control. Furthermore, he talks at length about setups that he uses, which he of course has moved away from now. This post here specifically caught my eye. http://www.elitetrader.com/et/index.php?threads/keeping-it-simple-ii.15110/#post-220200 In reference to a question about how Db "handles the premarket data??" ... his reply was that he didn't. I'm not sure if this means to say that at this time he didn't put any emphasis to the overnight price action, but this is certainly how I interpret it. This has of course changed now for him. Its quite interesting to read this thread... thanks for pointing out VP.
Are you serious? With the quality of my posts here thus far, especially compared to your drivel? Are you writing these drunk? Your reaction is simply disgusting. What did you offer of value in this discussion? I see you attacked me personally unprovoked without knowing much at all about me, several times. You contend that @dbphoenix is leading his students astray, but you can't criticize anything specific about the method itself to justify that claim, seemingly for lack of having studied any of it. How can you then be surprised that I or anyone else ask for credibility on your part? An opinion is worthless unless justified. Don't answer that, you're already ignored anyway. I have no patience for childish name calling, which you've done one too many times now. I'm just saddened that you're allowed to vote, and such, because you clearly lack basic judgement. Go read my posts again and maybe you'll finally notice that I was discussing in good faith despite your attacks. When did I tell anyone to do anything? Maybe you're referring to how I reminded @Ditch that until he's read the material he's bashing, he's not in a position to judge it. Yeah, I'm being quite the arrogant asshole to require someone to justify their claims. How dare I! Notice also, how civilized and constructive my discourse has been compared to @Ditch 's. I supplied useful information to the exchange, while (s)he resorted to name calling short of having any informed opinion to share. Very disappointing. Alright, time to move forwards from this juvenile insanity. Have fun playing in the sand while the adults talk. Glad to have found this "Ignore" button that's all the rage.
