That's true. You have absolutely nothing to go on because you haven't done the work. If you had, you wouldn't have to ask these questions (I see you're completely side-stepping the question about the suggestions you've received). Do you think these other traders begin every session as if they were trading for the first time? (Well, granted, one might think so.) You have to do the work. I can't be any plainer than that.
Would this argument work the same way if I was searching for God? Would you keep telling me to pray harder and the reason I haven't heard him talk to me is because I haven't prayed hard enough? If everyone says you can't trade by feel... you have to have firm rules... then this must mean its something that can be tested. (ie. seen on a chart... any chart... tick chart.. 5 sec chart). When everyone is testing, they aren't replaying are they? To be honest even, the replay function kind of sucks... its not as smooth. My IB data isn't even true tick data. Fortunately now I can load up the historical data from Sierra Charts which is true tick data, but this still doesn't move as smoothly as what I see real time. Heck, maybe because I don't even have true tick data from my IB feed, I'm not even seeing it move like you guys are seeing it move. Maybe its like I'm watching movies from long ago that are at barely 10 frames per second whereas others are watching crisp and smooth sequences at the equivalent of 240 frames per second in those nice slow motion clips. Could this be it? My point is that if I had something to go on, it should be something I could test. If its something I could test, it should be something I can see on a chart. But neither you nor 40D explain any further. You just say to observe. You used to show 5 sec charts back over at TL... so you must have found value in these at some point. In this 5 sec chart, I can potentially see penetrations of first the overnight high and then the support at the pre-open ranger(green arrows), and then a quick rejection back inside. But if I'm to apply any of this to the resistance level at 4322, none of what I'm seeing would work to enter a trade in either direction because its all chop there. So is there any way for you to describe what I should be seeing?
You've been given suggestions by some of the best traders on ET on what to look for and how to test it, but you've blown all of them off. You want to be told where to enter. In real time. The only way you're going to get that is to join a trading room. So join a trading room.
ND does not trade like you at all, and nobody else uses the same concepts... they are mostly trading patterns. Nobody talks about behavior. So I think if I'm going to learn to trade the Wyckoff way and your interpretation, your advice would be most applicable. You might claim that I'm blowing them off, but they were just taking me in different directions. In this case, you are blowing me off.... which is fine, but its how I see it. (although of course my observation skills are lacking so I might not even be seeing this properly! LOL) I would have loved to see some real time trading in action, very much like the opportunity that 40D's friend had, but alas, that opportunity was never available, and I know that trading rooms for the most part would be ill advised, so I'm not sure why you are suggesting this if you really do want to see people succeed. (you even had a write up last year about the strict criteria of a trading room which I'm sure most don't meet)
