EDIT: never mind I just checked and realized they started them with 1 million not 100k this year. So the results are not as outrageous as it appeared at first glance...
Are you sure last year the traders started with One Hundred thousand? It seems to me they started with one million.
Last year the Olympiad was set to start with $100K BUT due to an IB mistake, the accounts were started with 1 Million. The contest was canceled after a day or so and re-started the next Monday with $100,000 in the accounts. The final results were based on the $100K equity start.
