Neither Australia nor UK want to go back their pre gun control eras. That tells you everything you need to know. More interestingly, school/mass shootings dont occur there as frequently as here.

When people talk about civilized world they usually mean western nations plus selected countries in asia and oceania. Bringing China and Brazil into this equation is misleading.

 

On top of what? Not the standard of living, average life expectancy, infant mortality rate, etc. US does have the largest economy and spends most on the military but in many meaningful categories US is not near the top.
