Simply more evidence he and his ilk are not even remotely concerned with public safety to begin with.

In the U.S., there are about 3.2 murders per 100,000 people each year by weapons other than firearms.

11% of police shooting involve innocent bystanders being shot - by the police.
FIVE times the percentage shot accidentally by the citizenry defending itself.

States that disallow concealed carry have violent crime rates 11% higher than national averages.

People with concealed carry permits are:
    • 5.7 times less likely to be arrested for violent offenses than the general public
    • 13.5 times less likely to be arrested for non-violent offenses than the general public

Guns prevent an estimated 2.5 million crimes a year or 6,849 every day. Often the gun is never fired and no blood (including the criminal’s) is shed.

  2. Most of the civilized world has much harsher gun control than USA. You can cut the crap here.

We're not the rest of the world. We are the greatest nation ever to grace this planet. Or we used to be until about 4 years ago.

    So?

*Chinese police destroyed 113 illegal gun factories and shops in a three-month crackdown in 2006. Police seized 2,445 tons of explosives, 4.81 million detonators and 117,000 guns

*The 10 countries with the highest murder rate do not include the US.
Most of those in the top 10 have very strict guns laws.

*"...the major surveys completed in the past 20 years or more provides no evidence of any relationship between the total number of legally held firearms in society and the rate of armed crime. Nor is there a relationship between the severity of controls imposed in various countries or the mass of bureaucracy involved with many control systems with the apparent ease of access to firearms by criminals and terrorists.”

    * Brazil has mandatory licensing, registration, and maximum personal ownership quotas. It now bans any new sales to private citizens. Their homicide rate is almost three (3) times higher than the U.S.

*firearm use in crimes in the UK has doubled in the decade since handguns were banned

*An ongoing parliamentary inquiry in Britain into the growing number of black market weapons has concluded that there are more than three million illegally held firearms in circulation – double the number believed to have been held 10 years ago – and that criminals are more willing than ever to use them. One in three criminals under the age of 25 possesses or has access to a firearm.

    *Australia
From the inception of firearm confiscation to March 27, 2000, the numbers are:
    • Firearm-related murders were up 19%
    • Armed robberies were up 69%
    • Home invasions were up 21%
The sad part is that in the 15 years before the national gun confiscation:
    • Firearm-related homicides dropped nearly 66%
    • Firearm-related deaths fell 50%
Gun crimes have been rising throughout Australia since guns were banned. In Sydney alone, robbery rates with guns rose 160% in 2001

*Though illegal, side-street gun makers thrive in the Philippines, primarily hand crafting exact replicas of submachine guns, which are often the simplest type of gun to manufacture. Estimates are that almost half of all guns in the Philippines are illegal

The majority of crap is from you and your control freak ilk. You want to punish everyone but the guilty.

The world is still full of dictatorships and police states. Why don't you fucking move to one of them if you don't like it here.

Yep, that's one of the reasons we're at the top. We try not to do what they do.

  7. Neither Australia nor UK want to go back their pre gun control eras. That tells you everything you need to know. More interestingly, school/mass shootings dont occur there as frequently as here.

When people talk about civilized world they usually mean western nations plus selected countries in asia and oceania. Bringing China and Brazil into this equation is misleading.

  8. On top of what? Not the standard of living, average life expectancy, infant mortality rate, etc. US does have the largest economy and spends most on the military but in many meaningful categories US is not near the top.
