Prop firms aren't maintaining remote traders. Intermittent connection problems and system down time will cost you $$$. Its all about the P&L...
It would seem to me that this would be a great model for the prop shops. Low overhead, wouldn't need to pay high rent for office space, and you could potentially attract a wider range of traders if the system issues could be ironed out. Because let's face it, wouldn't it be great to live low profile away from the megaoplis' and make a decent living. Heck in the sticks, even $40k to $50k a year can go a long way if you're humble. Just my 0.02, since that's what I plan on doing, Don and others with remote traders, look forward to making it possible. Thanks fer yer time all!
Prop firms aren't maintaining remote traders. Intermittent connection problems and system down time will cost you $$$. Posted by Xtrader Xtrader, We are maintaining remote traders and we have specialized in the business of remote trading for over five years . Remote trading offers specail problems including software integration and compatbility, internet access & connectivity and communications with your introducing broker. Don't generalize, about remote traders at pro firms. Some firms are better at remote trading than others and some have expanded their remote business too quickly. If a remote trader uses AOL as his internet provider, there is very little I can do to help him or her. Remote traders should have always have a tech on call if they run into serious problems. Remote traders need to be "set up" properly before trading. I'm sure Cash and other managers at pro firms would agree . We have plenty of remote traders that make a very nice living, obviously it works for them. I always recommend our remotes to have backup systems and backup internet connections. If you are remote, you should equip your home office properly, have the proper connections, and have a backup.
