  1. I find engineers are the most arrogant when it comes to "thinking" they can beat the stock market. My father happens to be one, so I am not down on engineers as a whole, but their linear thinking just does not mix well with the financial markets generally.

Surf, Metoxx never "posted" those edges on ET. He "hired" guys from ET to work for him. There is difference. He never started a thread and said this is what we do.

Yes, I have also met great people on here. Lots. But that is a different topic entirely. ET can be a great networking tool for the people who are not anti-social hobbits with 30 aliases who get their rocks off debating themselves in 10 different threads. I have always encouraged people to meet others in person. I was willing to meet anyone who called in Chicago and many on here did. I even flew to NY and CA to meet fellow Eters.

    marketsurfer likes this.

  4. True, but the "god like" edge he had for awhile was available to elite traders if they just asked him. He even provided the money to trade the edge. Unreal!! We will never see that again.

Yeah, the networking was unreal-- I pray that returns but I doubt it---- i even had to shut down the surf fests due to threats from assclowns and stealth vendors- it just wasn't worth it----- surf

The "joint industry plan" order of July 2000 killed any crossed, inter-market arbitrage on listed options in the US within a few months. Metooxx had a front-end for markets that were "00 x 00" but were not crossed. That is not an arbitrage.

Most of us in this world are sheeps

I don't agree with monetization aspect it will attract vultures after low hanging fruit and there are plenty of sites already doing a good job at that eg UpDown however most on that site are not trading for a living and payout is so small that I doubt anyone here will share a working edge for pittance. Most people this planet are sheeps therefore intelligence/ common sense has nothing to do with it....

ps I already see members adding value without pay

The pay is not for giving out your edge. LOL. And you don't "pay" them anything. And they don't "give" you anything. And how are vultures going after low hanging fruit? LOL. Can't they do that here? Under the other model they wouldn't be able to.

Here's the 411 on Gary Williams. Most of his supporters are the typical one-post shills we know to expect in this type of discussion.
