For someone with innate talent, I agree, rules (aside from risk management) limit your potential. The vast majority of us, however, are not naturally suited for this game and must quantify our behavior, test it, continually recalibrate it, etc.

But if you've got what it takes to be a consistent discretionary winner (looking at you, college ruled), it may be better to avoid rules.

  4. Yes, you are disappointing.

So is the OP. He classifies me as FOS because I posted the actual results of a beginning mentored stock trader. He calculated the beginner's actual annualized results and called me FOS.

ET has been going astray for a long time.

So steak is 1000% a year as a starting trader. spurt thinks that a beginner being mentored can't perform that well according to spurt's standard. So he blows the beginner off and he puts me on ignore.

I attended a three day training workshop mid SEP. Most of the way through at a dinner the second nite I was told: "Hey you really aren't a liar after all". I had answered all the questions he could think of. He said he had tried to trick me and he couldn't do it.

I met five people out of 27 whose names and creds I have. I made an index for the workbook we used and sent it to them. It is seven pages long and it is a matrix that notes where repeatede usage is distributed over the main parts of the training. I also did a Glossary so they would have the main elements understood and interrelated.

I was able to replace SQL with a more user friendly language which I can program myself. I connected with the staff so I can get my Q's answered.

You are what is called "a Taker" So is the OP mostly; he is talking about what he can get and where.

So ET has set a new line of resistance and it has tested it and is now seeking to break through support where support becomes the new resistance.

ET makes money because of hits. there is no quality requirement. Just as in trading qual is not what works.

In ET, the subject of balance is what is on the table. It is all takers now. A contest is not giving. quoting sophomoric "truisms is nada.

what made ET work was when there was a balance of "inquiry" initiating discussion and when people who could "give" supported the serious learner by presenting him with the next step in the path the questioner NEEDED and which the provider had taken on his path to success.

Now ET is just "no nothings" putting out the fires of disappointing beginning people like you.

There are classic moments here like marketsurfer keeping me on ignore. my posts are too long is another classic.

members of ET show failure to ask pertinent thoughtful questions. "No nothings" reply with crap. Moderators put threads in chit chat as a consequence of "no nothing's crap. People who could help don't come back except to "check in" and conclude ET is in a short and breaking support and creating a lower resistance over and over.

  7. Jack, show the world where I said you were FOS.

And while you're at it show them where I did this calculation.

Have you been talking to me again when the PC is off and you're looking in the mirror?

    You shouldn't keep doing that.

Jack, Jack...that's not me in there

    :D

  8. think back. when was the last time you tabbed up some performance criteria on the trades of another person.

the anuual % was in the high 900's and you gave it one of those CW names. I rounded it to 1000 using significant figures.

I can remember being called FOS since it only happens twice a week or so.

the thread is still going and you were commenting on an answer I sent to your thread because you asked for some performance information. In this thread you post some CW truism and then after that there is a section about two intials who talk and say advanced beginner things. questions also happen.

Calling me FOS is a good idea because it shows bravery in the face of a cruel reality. those i mentor learn more than you think is possible in trding at any skill level. You are very brave to put that message out there in the space.

I have had many many experiences when people find out what my performance level is. there is a reason. In their terms, I am "unbelieveable".

FOS is another expression for "unbelievable".

The SEC thinks I am unbelievable, too. Their reason is that iI can't know that many people. What if someone at the SEC could think through what I am actually doing? what if?

Their computers say to them that I am an "insider" trader. I mentor beginners on "insider trading" and none of even knows anyone at the company we make money from.

today you post the above. you are saying you did not do this very brave thing.

someone will show you your post and the associated calculation.

  10. That it is a shitty thread that should be in the chit chat. There is lots of clutter around here, but it is still a good forum.
